What I liked I loved the graphics and the 3D images in the story! The little touches like the fire under the pot and the pot bubbling were great. I loved the transitioning between the pages as well. I didn't have any trouble distinguishing the end of each page. The scrolling of the words was actually fun! I liked the flowers that came out and the words being described on the papers. It did get a little repititious, though. I love anything multicultural and this was a wonderful rendition of a classic story!
Improvements I would love to see the "Read it to Me" function more clearly labeled in English. I teach Kindergarten and have students that would love a story like this, but are unable to read it. You may want to change how the words appear to keep things fresh. For example, the papers unfolding are good, but maybe try a flower unfolding or a pot opening for the pot picture. Have other things open than just the papers each time. At the end of the story there needs to be a back button to return you to the beginning of the story. I wanted to review things and found it a pain to scroll all the way back.
General review I really liked this app! I think it is visually appealing and the introduction to Japanese is great! I didn't realize there was a read it function until I went back. There needs to be clearer instructions, perhaps have them read outloud as well. I didn't see if that could be done. I wasn't sure if I would share this with my students, but after finding the story does read itself, I will. I show my apps on my ipad and this will be great!

What I liked I especially liked the Coffee Pot story. The vocabulary used, like simmers and swells, was wonderful to see. The inflection of the reader's voice kept my attention and made the story come to life! There were nice interactions on this story as well. My students loved lighting the candles and seeing the jam boil! This story was by far everyone's favorite!
Improvements I did not care for the Banana story. It did not hold the children's attention. The word almond, pronounced with the l sound, was confusing for my American kids. I realize this is a dialect issue, but when an app is for children, this needs to be taken into account. The Daisy story started out well with the repetition, but I think it went too far. It lost my students attention after the fourth or fifth time repeating.
General review In general, I liked this app. The Coffee Pot story makes it all worth while! I would like to see a little more direction given at the beginning of the app as to how to get help. If this were spoken and shown, it would help young players who don't have an adult to guide them.

What I liked WOW! I love this app! As a teacher it is great to find one app with so many aspects to it! The multiple grade levels and subjects is great for differentiating lessons. The way the app runs is smooth and uncomplicated. I didn't have any trouble navigating the lessons. I also liked how focused the lessons were on the Common Core.
Improvements I always like to see a verbal instructions piece added to apps. If a student is ESL, the need for verbal question reading is important, especially in Math and Science areas. I had some trouble exploring all the aspects of this app, which is also a good thing. It is very complete. Maybe have each subject available separately fo a smaller fee. I would also like to see a Kindergarten through 2nd grade app just like these.
General review I absolutely love this app! The fact that it covers multiple grade levels and subjects is fabulous. The way questions are presented is clear and uncomplicated. The app is easy to figure out and work. I am looking forward to spending even more time exploring this app! Great buy! One of the best apps I've seen!
