Bo's Dinnertime v 1.0 [text]

Link to the App Store

Rating
What I liked This is a favorite of my three year old. He likes helping Bo to cook his dinner. My son has played this on both the ipad2 and iphone 4S. The voice that gives the verbal directions is very clear. This is a nice feature for younger children. I also like that this app works on visual discrimination while also teaching children about healthing eating and cooking.
Improvements My 3 year old had a difficult time starting with this app. I needed to walk him through it before he could play independently. It may help to have the buttons the child needs to press flash. He also sometimes had difficulty with the screen moving when he was trying to move puzzle pieces or put the groceries away.
General review This is cute app that helps kids practice visual discrimination while working on learning to eat healthy food and learning healthy habits in the kitchen. My 3 and 5 year old boys love playing it. I did need to walk my 3 year old through it the first time, but he quickly caught on.

Happi Full Throttle (v1.0.1) [text]

Rating
What I liked We love this app! My three year old enjoyed that all of the switches and buttons on the different vehicles worked. He loves making the fire engine use the fire extinguisher. I like that the buttons help with the understanding of cause and effect. my son also liked being able to use the camera to "drive" and run over mommy. I personally thought that the submarine was really neat because not all children have the exposure to some of these vehicles. Plus I liked the addition of the telescope.
Improvements I would love to see "tracks" added so that this app could be used without the camera, such as on the first ipad. Following a track and using the ipad to drive along it is a skill that is very difficult for some children and this app could be the perfect place to practice that. I would also like to see that when you click on the radio(such as the one in the helicopter) that you can understand what the person is saying. Right now I feel it is very difficult to understand. Also I would like to be able to add the app to my iphone also. I thought you could, but when I tried, I was not able
General review My family loves this app! My three year old enjoys that all of the switches and buttons on the different vehicles (fire engine, helicopter, car, & submarine) worked. I like that the buttons help with the understanding of cause and effect. This app uses the camera to "drive" and the boys( 3 & 5) thought it was great to run over mommy. I also liked that this app got the boys up and moving around the house.

Alphabet Jumbled v1.0 [text]

Rating
What I liked I liked the bright colors and the different texture of the letters. I also liked the varying levels of difficulty from a child learning their alphabet to a child who was ready to work on alphabet order. I also liked the challange of being timed. In addition my kids were drawn to the music.
Improvements This app crashed on me several times and caused me to have to completely shut down my ipad 2. The crash occurred when we first opened the app at the startup screen. It would lock up to the point that ibwould have to do a hard restart on the iPad. I would love to see capital letters added and even words that can be oput in ABC order. . From an educators standpoint, I feel like the b and d did not have long enough stems. This may confuse some children as they will think it is an o.
General review Although this app has crashed on me several times (which I can't wait to see fixed!), the idea is great. Students of varying levels can use it to learn their alphabet, practice the order that the letters go in and even be timed in how fast they can put the alphabet together. This is a great app for a K-2 primary special education classroom or even PreK-1 general education.

Puzzleosaurus - Dinosaur Jigsaw puzzles [text]

Link to the App Store

Rating
What I liked I love this app! The puzzles are great for my kids. I like that when they finish a map comes up of where the dinosaur lives. I also really like the visual pictures of meat for carnivores, or cars to show how much a dinosaur weighed. I also like that my kids could push on different things and it would read it to them.
Improvements This app did crash on us once, but that was the only time. It was a little difficult to play on the ipone4s but I feel that was due to the small screen size, not the app itself. I would love to see more life like pictures or even pictures of the dinosaur bones after the child completes the puzzle and they come to the information page.
General review This is a great fun and educational app. My 3 & 5 year old boys love to put the puzzles together and get to the information page. They are learning about how big dinosaurs were in comparison to objects that they know (such as cars). The app also reads the information to them if they click on it which is great for my 3 year old!

Grimm's Frog King 1.01 [text]

What I liked I love this app! The different voices used and the animations make it so exciting. The illustrations are beautiful. I love that the extras include questions about the story. I also like the information that is provided about the differences between a frog and a toad.
Improvements I did not see the need for any major improvements in this app. It would be nice it the Extras section was broken down into different parts, so you could just go to the section you wanted. For example, if I used this in my classroom, I would like to be able to go straight to the questions about the story. I also think it would be neat to add the different sounds a frog and a toad make on the page where the differences are described. There were also a few places in the story where it seemed like you should be able to click and hear something and there was nothing.
General review I love this app! There are different voices used and the animations make it so exciting. The illustrations are beautiful. I love that the extras include questions about the story and information about the differences between a frog and a toad. I could see how I could use this story as a compare and contrast lesson in my classroom along with many other uses.

5th Grade Math: Splash Math Worksheets App [HD Lite] v2.3.2 [text]

Link to the App Store

Rating
What I liked I like the ability to get reports on the students progress and being able to hart different students. I also like the feedback that is given when a student gets an answer correct or incorrect. This would be a great app to use with not only on grade evel studens but also struggling students who need additional documentation on their progress.
Improvements I found the overall navigation a bit confusing. It took me as an adult a few minutes to figure out how to answer question and submit my answer. I would also like to see an option for the questions to be read aloud. This would be a great feature for turns who are learning disabled in reading but on grade level in math. To add this option it could just be tt te student clks on the words or a graphic of a speaker and it is read. I also am not a big fan of the in app purchases.
General review Overall, I like this app.  It has the potential to be a good app for teachers to use as another source to practice math skills and collect data.  It a gives the ability to email data enabling a teacher to share with parents.  I do wish it had a read aloud feature for students who are unable to read the questions.  I also am not a fan of the in app purchases and found navigation difficult at first.

What I liked I love this app! The music is great and it is very colorful. I love that it practices one to one correspondence using fingers which is something that lots of children can relate to. The ability to earn different badges and items for the character is great also. I also like the feature to be able to turn off the verbal cues and reset the app.
Improvements I really would like to see some form of directions added. I was confused on what to do when I first opened the app. The directions could be verbal or visual. You could even put them on the parent page. I would also like to see the app count consecutively when in the 1:1 correspondence area when touching the objects the child counts. Children do not always count from left to right. Often my 3 year old got confused because he began on the right. (Please note that the first video was interrupted soI had to restart the recording. Here are the first 50s: http://youtu.be/DH-lCNj37Sw)
General review I love this app! I am looking forward to using it in my classroom to practice one-to-one correspondence, addition, subtraction, and number patterns. The music and voices are inviting and the rewards are motivating. I would like to see some form of directions added to help kids get started with using it and prevent frustration.

Screen Time - Media Time Manager [text]

Link to the App Store

Rating
What I liked What a great idea for parents to help monitor media time. I love that there is a timer and that kids can earn time by making healthy choices. I also like that kids can earn rewards by not using all of their time. I like that you are able to see see the daily used, earned and redeemed.
Improvements I would like the option to be able to add my own rewards and delete the default ones. It is not possibly for every family to be able to take their kids to the zoo or bowling. I would also like to be able to have my kids track their own usage, so I would need parental controls that I could "lock" so that my kids could not mess with the settings.
General review Overall, this is a good app to help monitor your child or children's media time usage. It enables you to set the amount of time per child. The child can earn extra time by making healthy choices and can earn rewards by trading in time. This would need to most likely be run by the parent as it may be to difficult for younger children to use and older children may change the settings.

Budget Balance, version : 1.2 [text]

Link to the App Store

Rating
What I liked I liked the ability to add different categories and different items to each section. This gives the ability to tailor the app to your specific needs. I also like the ability to carry over various transactions from day to day, week to week or month to month.
Improvements I found it frustrating when trying to add a debit or credit to a month other than the current month. While viewing a specific month, say June (with the current month being August) if I tried to add a debit, it would be added to August unless I went in and changed it. I felt like if I was viewing June then it should be added to June.
General review This is a good app to help you balance your household budget. It is a little overwhelming when you first open it, but easy to become accustomed to. You can customize it by adding your own categories. It also produces graphs to show you your debits verse income ratio.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Factory: Place Value (v1.0) [text]

Link to the App Store

Rating
What I liked I liked the overall capabilities of this app. It is a great activity for students to practice their place value skills and the use of cookies will really peak their interest. I like that you are able to add up to 4 players and see each individual players high scores. I also like that directions are included on the opening screen along with having the ability to read directions for each individual activity.
Improvements I would like to see the font enlarged so that students with visual impairments can read it the directions easily. It would be nice to know the values of each individual piece (cookies, box, pallet, etc) as sometimes I found it confusing. I would also like the ability to slow down the cookies when they are on the conveyor belt for students who may not be able to click as fast. It would be great to also have a section where you build numbers by putting cookies in the ones place, stacks in the 10's place, etc like a student would do with base 10 blocks.
General review Although this app is not as flashy as other apps, it is a great resource to practice place value skills. Children use cookies, stacks of cookies, pallets, etc to build numbers, add, subtraction, multiplying and dividing. You are able to add multiple players and see some of their data. Directions are included on how to play individual games.

Trains Story Puzzles - The Little Engine Who Saved the Carnival! [text]

Link to the App Store

Rating
What I liked I love the idea of this app. The way the puzzle build in difficulty is fantastic and will enable me to use this app with students in my special education classroom. I also enjoyed the story and the message behind it that goes with each puzzle. I actually liked watching the story in it's entirety without the puzzles better.
Improvements I would like to see the next button blink, flash or something similar when it is time for the children to press it. I think this will help with knowing what to do next. You many also want to include simple directions with the first puzzle so that new users will know what to do.
General review This app is great for children ages 2 - 5 or 6. It tells the story of a carnival train that has a problem and the little train that helps him. The story is told either through the puzzles (which start off easy and go up in difficulty as you go through the story) or you can watch the story in its entirety.

Felt Board 1.1 [text]

Link to the App Store

Rating
What I liked This is an adorable app. I love all of the options for backgrounds, people, articles of clothing, letters, numbers, etc. The directions are easy to read, but I was able to figure it out without them which is a definite plus. I really like how there is a recycling can instead of a trash can to help the kids relate that to recycling.
Improvements I would like to see other body shapes in addition to the paper doll type shapes that are already there. Having the option to just flip an object instead of having two of it facing different directions may be a way to save some space so that you can add even more options.
General review This is an adorable felt board like app with tons of options. You can build a variety of different scenes and make people wearing all sorts of outfits and having a variety of emotions. There are animals, plants, numbers, and letters that you can add to your picture. This would be great for younger children and older special education children.

Pin Tiki Ball 1.0 [text] [video]

Rating
What I liked The graphics were great for an ipad app. The game kept my husbands attention and he enjoyed playing it. I could also see that it would be interesting for our children to play. The game has different things that you are working towards which add to the level of interest.
Improvements I would like to see additional boards added, although the way the app is set up it seems that this will be coming in the future. I would also like to see a way to utilize the axis in the ipad to do something similar to a tilt or tapping the side of an actual machine. This would allow for some movement when the ball comes straight down the center. Also the tips on playing were great, but they need to stand out more or be in a different location so that they are easier to fine.
General review Overall, this is a fun game to play with nice graphics. It is interesting and hopefully in the future will have additional boards which would result in a higher rating from myself. I would like to wait to put my review in the app store because I feel that the developer may be adding additional features and I would like my app review to reflect those features.

Heidi story collection - 3 in 1, Version 1.0 [text]

Link to the App Store

Rating
What I liked Wow, what a well thought out app. I love the ability to choose different reading levels. I also like that the text is tracked through highlighting. The activities to go along with each story are great also. Having the ability to check out different languages is a great addition.
Improvements I think a big deterrent would be the cost. Can you separate each story or make a lite version so people can see how great this app is? I would like to see the ability to turn off the narration so a child can read it completely on their own. It would also be great if a child could click on certain words and get a definition.
General review Wow, what a well thought out app. I love the ability to choose different reading levels. I also like that the text is tracked through highlighting. The activities to go along with each story are great also. The addition of being able to turn off he narration would be a definite plus.

Math Summoner [text]

Rating
What I liked I like that this app allows students to practice different math skills and plays into that kids like magic and "mystical" things. I also like that you are able to set up multiple players. This allows to use for multiple students and to track their progress.
Improvements Myself and my 6 year old son found this app difficult to navigate. Once you were in a level, there was no way to get back to the home screen. Also, their were very limited directions. Once you clicked on the flower there was no direction to tell you what to do next. We figured it out by trial and error. I found the geometry questions difficult because when you were pressing on the figure to move it and bring up the boxes to put it in, you could no longer see the shape, so it made it difficult to decide which box to put it in since the boxes only came up when you were pressing on the shape
General review This app allows students to practice different math skills & plays into the fact that kids like magic and "mystical" things. It provides the ability to set it up for multiple players and you are able to track the % that a player has correct. Overall, I would not recommend this app to other teachers or students until it has some improvements. The overall idea is good, but there needs to be some work in the area of directions and navigation.

What I liked Wow, what a great app! I love all of the different activities. They provide for lots of fine motor development and cognitive development. I really like that you can control the amount of time a child can play and that in order to adjust the settings you need to hold the button down for 3 seconds. My 3 year old really enjoyed this app, especially bopping the cows on the head.
Improvements I would like to see the ability to set this up for different children/students to use. That way the settings could be set specifically for them. The additon of easy/hard etc in the settings would be great so that the difficulty level could be varied.
General review Wow, what a great app! I love all of the different activities. They provide for lots of fine motor development and cognitive development. The parent has the ability to control the amount of time a child can play and the settings can not be changed accessed unless you hold the button down for 3 seconds. This app provides enough differentiation that both my 3 year old and 6 year old are able to enjoy it.

What I liked I like that my 3 year old son enjoys this app. He likes the different animals and pushing all of the buttons to make the music. I like that there are bright colors and a variety of songs to choose from. The music is also interesting and catchy for children. In addition the controls to make it easier for someone that is left handed is a nice addition.
Improvements 1. Either take out the inapp purchases or make them much more affordable. My son knows that I would not let hm spend the additional money to get the other songs and this was disappointing to him.
2. Add additional educational value to help justify the cost of the additional tracks. Yes music is very educational but a lot of parents are looking for something that will help th child read, learn numbers, etc.
General review My 3 year old enjoys playing with this app but we wer disappointed that in order to get additional tracks we needed to make in app purchases. The music is entertaining and the app overall is very colorful with vivid pictures. Sme of the pictures of of real animals

Bo's Matching Game V1.0 [text]

Rating
What I liked My 3 year old was so excited to see another Bo app on our ipad. He loved playing all of the matching games. I love that he is learning something and having fun at the same time. The colors and music are great. It is a definite plus also be able to turn off the music and sounds. I also like that you are able to pick the number of squares used in the matching game and that when pressing the ? the child is able to see the cards.
Improvements I would like to see additional games added as the app evolves. Adding more choices in teh matching section would be great. Also I feel that the child may need some voice over when first starting that tell them exactly what to do. Such as match the two pictures that are the same. When you fist open the app there is the song, but my son needed some more direction before he was able to be independent.
General review My 3 year old was so excited to see another Bo app on our ipad. He loved playing all of the matching games. I love that he is learning something and having fun at the same time. The colors and music are great. Children are given the opportunity to make their own choices with in the app as to how many squares they would like in the matching section or if they want to be the boy or the girl.

The Meeting App 1.1.2 [text]

Link to the App Store

Rating
What I liked I love this app. It has so many neat features that can be used during a meeting. I love that I can easily delegate action needed to attendees and simply email the action to them. I also like the help section with the pictures and tutorial. I will be able to use this in my special education meetings, in club meetings, etc.
Improvements I would like to see additional information added to the help section on connecting the calendar on the iPad to the calendar in the meeting app. I for some reason could not figure this out and I did not find information that helped me get further than the privacy settings on the iPad. I also would like to see the ability to make customized drop down menus for action/delegated items. That way when you have things that repeat you can simply click on them instead of retyping at each meeting.
General review Over all this is a great app with a good tutorial on how to get started. It has the ability to be used in multiple settings within a variety of different work places, schools, and activities. Being able to email the the meeting notes and action/delegated items is a definite plus. I also like that wit gives the ability to share with in Dropbox. However, I was unable to connect the calendar on my iPad with the app.

Present A Choice [text]

Link to the App Store

Rating
What I liked I think this app is a good overall idea but still needs some fine tuning. I like that I am able to add my own pictures and text. I also like that I have the ability to decide how many choices are given. I am able to use this in my classroom with my cognitively delayed students and also with my typically developing child. (3 years old)
Improvements I would like to see additional pictures added to the stock photos section or the ability to download from the developers site photo categories to use. Having to scroll through the choices instead of presenting them all on one screen makes it more difficult for students to make choices. Being able to rotate the screen may help this. I would also like to see the addition of a voice option where you could record your own voice to use as a choice. The ability to change the text and background colors would be great along with the text size.
General review Over all this has the potential to be a great app for typically developing toddlers and children with special needs. The app gives you the ability to create choices for the child with picture cues. You can add your own text and pictures. At this time the stock photo library is very limited. The addition of a voice option would nice. Also when the choices are presented you need to scroll to see all of them.

What I liked This is a cute game that my 3 year old enjoyed. I like that you are able to switch between American and English accents. I also like that you are able to control the music. The addition of the area that needs to be clicked pulsing is a nice addition. the graphics are colorful and vivid and the music and sound effects appealing.
Improvements I would like to see a better tutorial on the expectations of play. My son was a little frustrated in the beginning because he was not sure what to do. I would also like the ability to have the app say the letter name when the child presses on it. This could be something that was turned on and off. The addition of the this would increase the app "value". At the moment, I would be disappointed to have paid for this app. I did have the app crash on me on a few occasions on various screens. It seems to be when a "level" is completed.
General review The is a cute app that my 3 year old enjoyed. It allows children to discover various items by spelling the name of the item and using it in the resting area of the app. It was frustrating in the beginning for my child and for myself as there is no tutorial or real direction on where to begin. It would be a great addition to the educational value to be able to hear the names of the letters as they are pushed.

AdjustGrid / version1.0 [text] [video]

Rating
What I liked I love the about section with the explanations of the different grids. It is great information. I Los like that I can control the color of the grids. This is beneficial to people with disabilities and just for the changing backgrounds. I also like the timer feature no the ability to turn the flash on and off when I was using my iPhone.
Improvements I would like to see links to more information about the grid and how to make my photography Bette. I also think the additional of a short tutorial would be good. I was not sure how how to start the timer and it took some trial and error. I also think some minor editing tools within the app would be great. Tools might be color changes, cropping, etc.
General review Great app to help improve your photography skills. The variety of grids help to make your photos fantastic. There is a built in timer and a the ability to turn the flash on and off within the app. The app also gives you the ability to share your photos. There is also a section that tells you why each grid is used. A short tutorial would be beneficial, but a little trial and error you can figure this app out. .

What I liked I like the story line that goes along with the games in this app. The highlighting of the words feature is great and the different action when you touch the pages of the story so engaging. Twins app provides an opportunity for my students to practice sorting by various attributes in a fn setting.
Improvements I would Ike to we options provided for various accents. I would also like to see the ability to change settings to make the games easier or harr. Students who have poor fine motor planning may not be able to get the the difference t items in the sorting basket game quick enough and the item will be taken away. I would also like lot see the addition of so simple directions in the beginning for the games to help students along. Another feature that would be nice would be the ability to turn off the reading voice so kids could read it independently.
General review Overall, a great app with fun activities. The app includes a story that is read with various fun characters, different things to touch on each page and games that fit into the story line. Kids can play the games within the story or independent of the story. The games use a fun format to practice various sorting tasks. Kids need to sort by various attributes. Great practice for sorting IEP goalsM

What I liked I found this game really addictive once I got the hang of it. I like that there is a tutorial to walk you through how to play and that there are other options to the in app purchases. This is a game that my husband and I can compete with each other on. I also like the ability to be able to post to Facebook and twitter.
Improvements I would like to see some description on the start screen when you first begin to use the app. For my husband who is a "gamer" it was easy for him to figure out what each symbol meant. Of rme who is in no way a "gamer" I had to play around a bit more. Just something when you fist begin the app that says click here to learn how to play, click here to start, etc. maybe with an option to turn it on and off. It would also be nice to be able to choose a level to start at once you have reached that level. So if I had made it to level 4 at some point, when I go play again I can start at level 4.
General review I found this game really addictive once I got the hang of it. I like that there is a tutorial to walk you through how to play and that there are alternatives to the in app purchases (you do NOT need in app purchases to play the game successfully). This is a game that my husband and I can compete with each other on. There is the ability to be able to post your score to Facebook and twitter.

Weather and Clock for Kids [text]

Rating
What I liked The Mouse is adorable and the interactive surprises are great. I like how things change depending on the time of day. I also like that there is the ability to change to a different location. Having the two different clocks give the ability to show children how different clocks look.
Improvements I would like to see the addition of being able to see the weather in more places. Maybe by zip codes for those in the USA in addition to what is already available.
I would also like to see more to this app such as a game as to what the mouse should wear based on the weather or the ability to play a game to match different clocks. Another option would be adding a calendar with the month, date, and year. With that you could add a matching activity for the months or days of the week. At this time I would not pay to download this app without some additional features
General review Overall this is an app with a cute mouse. It tells the time, current weather and weather forest for the location you are in. It also provides the same information to a limited number of other worldwide locations. It provides for exposure of an analog and digital clock but does not allow the children to manipulate the clocks. There are some cute interactive additions such as the window going up and down or the fire starting when you touch it

What I liked I loved how interactive this app is.
The variety of texts provide interest for the reader. The illustrations Erne interesting and you never know what kind of animation is going to occur. This app keeps the reader involved and wanting to continue with the story.
Improvements I would like to see a read along feature added where the words are highlighted as the app narrates. Different voices could be used for each character to add additional interest. Also when the app first started I was unsure of what to do. Some simple visual directions on how to advance the page and how to get back to the beginning would be nice. The ability to turn the music off would also be a great addition.
General review This is the story of Aladdin with a lot of add visual effects, varied text features, and lots of high interest features. This would be a great story for parents to read to their children or for older kids to read as at this time it does not have a read aloud feature (which I hope is in a future update.)

What I liked The pictures are beautiful and I like the virus water sounds. I also like that you can adjust the volume of each feature within the app. The feature record your own lullaby is easy to use. Te ability to set a timer for the length you would like the nose to stay on is also a nice addition.
Improvements I would like to see the ability to change the rate/ rhythm of the heart beat. I would also like to be able to make the heart beat a bit louder than what is available now. Even at full volume it still seemed very soft. It would be nice to ave other options besides running water such as white noise, thunder storm, night time with crickets, etc. At this time I personally would not pay $2.99 for it. I use a free app with my son that works just as well and provides a variety of sounds.
General review Overall, this is a nice app to help sooth a baby to sleep. It has a built in heart beat and provides you the opportunity to record your own lullaby. The pictures are beautiful and provides information about where each picture was located and the sounds that go along with it.

What I liked I like this app. It has a lot of options such as the ability to read as a book or to have it read aloud. I also like that it has various differentiated activities to go along with the story such as the maze and word scramble. The app is colorful and well laid out, with a nice help section for parents.
Improvements I would like to see more interaction within the story part of the book. Like if you click on a picture it talks or moves. I think this would add for interest to children. Also, I was not sure where the informational part was when you read the book and information. I saw in the help section where there was an I for it, but I could not find it.
General review Overall, a nice app with built in features to have the story read to the listener or to read the story yourself. There are colorful pictures and additional differentiated activities to include a maze and a word scramble. There is also a nice help section for parents and caregivers

What I liked I love this app! It is so engaging and interactive. I like how when the kids read it to themselves they can still interact and the words will be spoken if they are touched, I also like the addition of comprehension questions and games at the end for parents and teacher to use.
Improvements Honestly nothing jumps out at me. This is such a well thought out app. I am hoping that you make more. It would be nice to have a few different stories in one app. That way there would bbe the ability thread a bunch of stories but not take up so much space for additional apps.
General review Overall a great engaging well thought out app. Readers are able to have the story read to them or read it on their own. The interactive features are fantastic and provider for a lot of visually and tactile interaction. There are also additional games for kids to play and comprehension questions for parents or teaches to use.

What I liked I liked the subtle visual cues that direct you on what to do. I also like that there are a variety of games within the app. They provide the oportunity to work on various skills. The colors and graphics are good. This ame may be interesting for girls or children who like to shop.
Improvements I would like to see the little girls face have a happier expression. She seems sad and depressed. I also would like to see additional directions for the games, even with the subtle sparkling cues I still did not me what to do with each game. Also the when you press the home key, it does nothing. The app did not keep the attention of my children and they quirky moved on. I would add other activities and make it more customizable such as being ble to change hair and eye color, even gender.
General review Overall, this is an ok ap with nice graphics. It has subtle visual cues to provide ditections. It would be nice for a preschooler who likes to shop. It does give the oportunity to practice some fine motor and cognitive skills but is not engaging enough for children to sustain attention.

What I liked I really like the tutorial for this app. It was very helpful and user friendly. The game overall was enjoyable and I like having the missions to complete as I can compete against myself. I also like the options to use the Game Center, post to Facebook, or ports to twitter.
Improvements I would like to see other options besides esrnign coins through the game/slots and buying coins. I am just not a big fan of in app purchases. Maybe you could connect to Facebook or twitter and earn so many coins. Become a fan of the app developers page and earn coins or share the game with your friends. I would also like to see a list of the words you create. Sometimes I didn't even realize that I created a word. I would love to know what it is and what it means.
General review This is an great addiciting game. It is easy to start playing and the in app tutorials help to explain everything as you play. The game challenges you to think fast and works your version of word knowledge. You can post your scores to Facebook and twitter. You can also compete against others in the Game Center. There are in app purchases but they are not required to play the game.

What I liked I wasn't sure what to expect when I started this app, but I love how the puzzle is animated. The kids find it extremely engaging. I also like that there is a variety of difficulty levels provided and 10 languages to choose from. The feature to lock the parent controls is also helpful. The visual and verbal feedback with the animal names is great also.
Improvements I would like to the additional animals added, maybe different ones on each level. Also when you click on the help section there is no how to play, just an email address. It would be nice to have a frequently asked questions or a tutorial to help relieve some of the emails you may receive.
General review I wasn't sure what to expect when I started this app, but I love how the puzzle is animated. The kids find it extremely engaging. I also like that there is a variety of difficulty levels provided and 10 languages to choose from. After completing the puzzle it says the name of the animal and the name is also given visually. Great app to work on fine motor and visual acuity skills.

What I liked I like how this app offers practice of a variety of math skills in an online format. With all of the testing students now have to do online and learn to use online tools this app provides an educational way to practice but still keeps some of the excitment in by letting the students earn points. I also like how when doing the practice you are able to pull up information to help solve a problem.
Improvements I would like to see video tutorials added. Maybe not directly in the app, but make it so you could click a link that would take you to a video. This will help learners who are visual or who are not able to read the tutorial provided. Also to make the app more accessible for students with disabilities you could have an option to that've the question read aloud.
General review I really like the set up of this app. I think it provides a lot of need practice and reinforcement for students. This app could be used at school or at home to practice online test taking skills or just to practic math skills. Some minor adjustments such as adding a read aloud option will make this app more accessible to a greater variety of students.

What I liked I love how colorful and bright this app is. I like that is has various levels of difficulty. The sparkling parts to helps kids know where to touch next is a nice touch. I like the feature of having to put in your birth year to access the parent section and additional apps. I will say that my 4 and 7 year old both loved playing this game!
Improvements I would like to see an option to take away to pictures for the puzzle pieces just to add an additional level of difficulty. I would also like to see less promotion for the full versions of apps. At times these promotions/advertisements got in the way of play. Also I wasn't sure what to do after I completed the puzzle and all of the little activities afterwards, (of course my boys taught me how to go back)
General review This is a cute puzzle app featuring Wubzy. It has various levels of play and lots of cues to help kids who might need them. At times the promotions for the full version of various parts did get in the way of play. There are parent features that require you to put in your birth year prior to accessing which is a nice touch. My 4 and 7 year old boys loved playing this game!

What I liked I like that this app provides practice for various math skills in a fun way. The story in interesting and interactive. I like that the story is read aloud with the words for students to follow along, this providers not only the opportunity to practice math skills but also reading skills.
Improvements I would like to see options added to turn off the narration so that students could read it themselves, I would also like to see options for varying levels of difficulty, the app would then be suitable for a wider range of children. There could be an easy, average, and difficult setting, the easy setting could give clues as to how to solve the problem by having things light up, etc.
General review I think this app is a good start but has room for improvement. The math incorporated into a story is a great attention grabber for students. Adding various levels and additional problems would be a definite plus along with the option to turn off the narration.

What I liked I just adore this app. I love the bright and color animations. The music is a great additon along with the various games and activities. I like that you can go into the settings and change the level of difficulty on the puzzles and the way that the letters are presented.
Improvements I would like to see additional games made with these adorable characters. A game to identify a letter by its sound or just the letter itself would be greatly. Also you could add to the app or have bother that use the same characters to practice sight words.
General review I adore this app. So do my students! It is bright and colorful with lots of great animations that attract attention. You can view not just the letters but also play games, type in ow rods to be animated and there is a cause and effect feature to each letter that is great for special needs kids.

What I liked I like that this app is colorful and interactive. My 1 year old was immediately attracted to it, he was saying hello to the bear as it gave the letter sounds. I like that their are a various items for each letter that the child can interact with. I also like the availability for different languages and that their are some tho of parents controls.
Improvements I would like to see more information about what letters are included. I was caught off guard when I went to continue on to D and had to solve an addition equation and then sign in to my account. I find that $3.99 is way to much to pay for the rest of the letters. was also disappointed when the bear gave the sound for the letter A as he also gave an incorrect sound and the sound for the letter u. As a teacher I want my students being exposed to the correct sounds. I do realize though that this app is not at this time intended for the U.S. which may impact the way letters are pronounce.
General review Overall, I think this is a good start to an app, but I am very disappointed in the cost to purchase the remaining letters. I would like to see a United States vernacular added as things are said differently here then they are in other English speaking countries.

What I liked I like that you can turn the voice on and off. I also like that you can change the color in here's background. Also the tracking is very helpful for those that are trying to keep up with the song. Tree really are a lot of options for songs and the songs are all popular Christmas songs.
Improvements When you turn off the words you can still hear the singing in ether background. When I turn off the words I want it to be just the music, not the voice turned down. It would also be a nice addition if you could change not only the background colors but the color of the words also, Another feature that would be a great addition would be the ability to record your singing.
General review This is already a good app if you want to sing karaoke to your favorite Christmas songs. Some minor adjustments will make it even better. This app provides the singer with a choice of 12 popular Christmas songs and the options to sign along or sing solo.

What I liked This app is very simple to use. It is easy to navigate. The ability to set up for multiple users is a great feature as is the ability to change some of the settings. I also like the help section as it not only visually tells you what each button does but also verbally tells you..
Improvements I would like to see a way to turn off this hints added to the settings. Also a way to lock the settings so only a teacher or parent could change settings or add or delete users. I could easily see one of my students deleting a user account accidentally. Since this app is geared to kindergarten you could add some additional graphics when the student is given praise. It could even be something you could turn on and off like the other feedback setting.
General review As is this is a great app for reviewing word families for kindergarteners. It is easily to navigate and students cans each Have their own account, a question can be repeated with the touch of a button and everything is read aloud for our beginning readers. Developing additional features added would only make it a better app and add to its usefulness within the classroom.

The Reading Train: A Common Core Early Literacy Tutor Version 1.0.3 [text]

What I liked I like that the students have multiple options when' they are reading a story and can read to themselves, read aloud, or record, I also like that students find out the meaning of a word or have a particular word read aloud. I like that there are lots of different books available on each level which offers a lot of variety.
Improvements I would like to see tracking added in future versions where when the book is read to the student the word is highlighted or has a dot underneath it. I would also like to see the ability to change the voice that reads the story. This would give students opportunities to hear the same story read by multiple people. When finding the meaning of a word students have to hold down for a few seconds, it would be easier to just be able to click on enter word to hear it read and then hold down for the definition. FYI: I was unable to view the video for comments for the developer.
General review I really like this app. I think it is a great way for students to practice reading and to listened to reading. Students are able to listen to the story read, read it themselves, or record themselves reading a story. Students are able to access a dictionary type train to learn new vocabulary and while reading the story students can hold a word to have it read out loud and find out the definition.
