Story Dice 1.0 [text]

Rating
What I liked I like the concept! It is a great way to spark some imagination and story telling in a simple format! I like that you can add 1-10 dice to increase the number of stimuli presented in each session. There is a wide variety of images that provide enough prompts for endless narrative fun! I will use this app as a warm up activity when I do story elements and writing in speech therapy sessions.
Improvements I think the ability to choose the which dice you want would be a great addition or update (a teacher/therapist/parent could select the specific prompts they want the children or group to talk about). The description says it would be great for preschoolers but the images are too static for the kids I tested it with. I find this more useful for older students when working on story elements.
General review I think this app is incredibly useful but you need to have a clear understanding of its implications and intended uses before you buy. The dice inlcudes pictograms that are designed to be easily identified without the need for reading tasks. I think this app is a great tool for teachers, parents, or therapists to use when guiding students in creative narritive activities. The app on its own may be confusing to students. Simple and easy to use!

Sight Words & Spelling with Pixopop [text]

What I liked I absolutely love all the features in this app! I love the three different activities (flash cards, word challenge, and spelling!). It also has 19 lists of sight words included with the ability to create your own lists! (a must have in a sight words app)! I like that it has a trophy room for positive reinforcement! Teachers can add their own spelling lists and directly relate this app to their curriculum! I also like the data tracking in the app!
Improvements I think that the ability to turn off the music at the beginning would be great! Also make more characters for the kids to choose from (kids really like that)! A wish list item would be having different lists for grade levels (for example a kindergarten list, a 1st grade list, a 2nd grade list, a 3rd grade list....ect.)
General review This app is awesome! It includes 19 word lists and the ability to make your own lists! There are 3 different activities to work on sight words! (flash cards, word challenge, and spelling). This app keeps track of accuracy and motivates the child with a trophy room! Input your own sight words that go with your curriculum (or child's spelling lists!) A lot of content for a low price! You can use this app for a long time, add new sight words often!

Bo's Dinnertime v 1.0 [text]

What I liked I really liked the different tasks throughout the app. I think the first task (catching the food in the basket) is great for eye hand coordination. I like that the child has to set the table, great way to teach table manners and routines. I really liked in the serving task you included audio (that can be repeated!) and visual cues for how many food items to serve. This is great for early counters and can build vocabulary and listening skills. Kids really loved the eating task and using their little fingers to "munch" the food. The burp got some laughs! I liked the cleaning up at the end.
Improvements I thought the shape sorting was great but it wasn't very realistic. Generally food is not kept on shelves under a sink. I would change that (make it look like a pantry or even spaces on top of the counter). I liked the puzzle table cloth idea, but again I would make it more realistic (look more like a real table cloth), You could add your logo in a checkered pattern for example. The ice cream scoops in the bowl look really awkward almost as if they were floating above the bowl. I like the "cleaning up" task, you might start the story with a hand washing sequence too.
General review A great app for little ones to learn a dinner time sequence or routine. It takes the child through shopping, putting groceries away, cooking, setting the table, serving the meal, eating, dessert, and cleaning the table/dishes! Each step includes mini-tasks for the child to complete that encourages vocabulary building and listening skills. There is a bonus game where you get to feed little characters and munch the food with your fingers! Very cut

Simplex Spelling Phonics 1 - English [text]

What I liked I liked that you can create users and track accuracy. I also liked the ability to select which list you want the child to practice spelling. There are 42 lists to target the different rules in English spelling. I loved the ability to switch the keys to a standard keyboard. My 5 year old didn't like it when the keys were in alphabetical order, he was much faster with the standard keyboard.
Improvements I didn't like how much the narrator talked for each word. The instructions were too long and she spoke way too much. It was distracting for my child. There is an option to turn the voice down or off but this isn't a good option because the child needs to hear the word to spell. I would recommend just shortening it or adding an instruction narrative at the beginning. Then just have the voice say the word to be spelled before each word. I also would recommend adding the ability to create your own list, this would make this app even better!
General review This is a great app to work on basic spelling for beginners or kids who struggle with spelling rules. The app is simple to use and set up. You can create users and track their progress throughout the app. There are 42 spelling lists targetting rules of English spelling. If they added the ability to add your own spelling list, this app would be perfect!

Bo's Bedtime Story [text]

Rating
What I liked I really like that graphics in this app! They are very cute and bright! I love that this app models a great bedtime routine (cleaning up toys, putting clothes in hamper, taking bath, getting pjs on, brushing teeth, getting teddy, reading story, getting kisses, and going to sleep!) As an SLP I would use this app (or recommend to parents) to work on vocabulary, colors, numbers, sequencing, categorizing, and listening skills. The little tasks for each step of the routine are fun and the narrator explains them to the child. I really liked the bonus dress up game.
Improvements I thought all of the tasks in the app were easy to play except the brushing teeth and teddy maze. The child I tested this app with seemed to get frustrated with how long it took to get all the fruit off the teeth. I would recommend making it easier to brush the teeth clean. The teddy maze didn't seem to work as smoothly as I thought it would. Around the turns the teddy would fall from the child's finger and they had difficulty moving it around. Another tip would be making one app with several different language choices instead of seperate apps for the different languages.
General review I highly recommend this app for 2-3 year olds, preschoolers, and children with special needs. Bedtime routines are so important and this app is a great way to reinforce and model one! There are great language opportunities in this app as well as the following concepts: vocabulary, colors, numbers, sequencing, categorizing, and listening skills. There is a bonus dress up game that kids love! This app is wonderful and the price is affordable!

What I liked I liked that it is designed to get kids up and moving around! I love the four choices and the cute little features such as windshield wipers, sirens, street marks, clouds...all of them! My son really loved the radio in the car and the water spray in the fire truck! I haven't seen an app like this before!
Improvements Although I loved that it uses the camera and you can explore your own surroundings, my child did get bored after a short time. I think a way to improve the app would be to add animations or more things to the screen ( a dog running across so the child has to stop, a bird flying by in the helicopter, fish swimming in the sub ect...) I like the cloud and street features that pop up, more stuff like that!
General review This is a one of a kind app that is designed to get your child up and moving around! It turns your iPad (using the camera) into a fire truck, car, helicopter, or sub! The child gets to look through the windshield at their own house or yard! There are many touch features while you are playing like spraying water in the fire truck ( my son would drive up to me and spray me!) flashing lights/ sirens and many more! Cute simple and creative!

Word Wizard - Talking Movable Alphabet & Spelling Tests for Kids [text]

What I liked I really like the customizable options in this app! Thanks for the Qwerty keyboard option (my kids hate it when its only in alphabetical order!) I love the different voice options and the ability to speed up the voice and change the tone, I haven't seen that before in a spelling app! I love all of the built in lists and the ability to create my own. I can use this in speech therapy by making spelling lists that include specific phonemes I want the students to work on! This will be great for my kids who are k-2nd grade at home! Thanks for including the hint button and the phonics option.
Improvements I would re-vamp the rewards in the app, the older kids seemed to be bored with the touch animations included. Also a better reporting option (maybe an emailable mini-report after a spelling session). I like the different speech options but some words are still unclear (I had to push the speak button 3 times for some of the words). The word "be" was very hard for my 5 year old to understand.
General review One of the best spelling apps I have seen. Very customizable with many built in lists and the ability to create your own list. I really appreciate the phonics feature you can turn on as you practice spelling. You can really tailor the app to your child's needs. Great for prek-4th graders. This app is perfect for teachers and parents to incorporate their student's spelling lists each week. At the end of a list you get a mini report!

Simplex Spelling Phonics 2 Syllables - Spell To Read [text]

What I liked I really like the settings tab that allows youto set up the app for each chils's needs. I love the ability to use a Qwerty Keyboard. I love all of the phonetic rules that it covers and the emphasis on the syllables. One of the best features in my opinion is the "reverse phonics" hints. I haven't seen this anywhere else! As a speech pathologist, I am always looking for ways to boost phonemic awareness! I love that is shows all the possible sounds for each letter or letter combo. I love that child can tap on the hint buttons and hear the sounds, which reinforces sound blending as well!
Improvements I suggest putting a user manual or a set up instructional for teachers or parents using this app. I think the ability to create yoru own word list would be great. This would allow the teacher to choose words with different rules to examine the childs retention of the learned skills in a random format. The ability to run group sessions would also be a huge improvements allowing teachers to use the app with more children, but still targeting child specific concepts.
General review This is a well thought out Spelling app to work on reading, spelling, and phonics skills. It comes with 54 different lessons that cover different spelling rules. There is an intro to each lesson that teaches the concept and then the child gets to practice by spelling. It is unique because it uses "reverse phonics' which breaks down the word into individual sounds. This app can store and track up to 40 students.Great for k-2nd! A must have!

Alphabet Jumbled v1.0 [text]

Link to the App Store

Rating
What I liked I liked the different levels. It has a natural progression that I think parents will find easy to follow and teach. The graphics are great and the music is soothing. I like that the child can drag the letters and release without having to be exactly over the matching outline. I like that first level of jumbled only selects a limited amount of letters to put in order with the outlines to match. The flashcards are a great way to bring in some vocabulary and language into the app (I am a speech therapist always looking to boost vocab!). The timing feature is great to have comparison data!
Improvements I would like to see the ability to use this app with upper case letters. I would change some of the vowel cards in the flashcard apps to be all long or all short vowel sounds (some teachers/parents may use this app to teach sounds as they are playing). I also wouldn't use consonant blends (grapes) in an app like this. The last level is very difficult (too much on the screen). I suggest putting little shelves or something to help the kids visually organize the letters. I think adding a letter sound feature would make this app even better and more valuable to parents and teachers.
General review This is a great app to learn alphabetical order. It presents the letters in lower case with 5 different levels. You get a basic "learn" section where the letters are shown and their names are said aloud. There is a flash card section with pictures ("a is for apple"). The jumbled tasks are great because the kids have to put the letters in the correct order in a variety of skill levels. This app is not for teaching phonics or letter sounds.

Puzzleosaurus - Dinosaur Jigsaw puzzles [text]

Rating
What I liked Educational value: I really like that a map is presented after the puzzle is completed that includes where they were found, what they ate, and their size. This is great for vocabulary building. I appreciated the name being modeled at the beginning and the phonetic breakdown of the word on top of the map to help teachers and parents teach their kids the dino's name. Functionality:The pieces are easy to move and manipulate. I like that the pieces pop into place even if they are not exactly lined up! I like that the advanced level requires greater fine motor skills to turn the pieces!
Improvements I would make an easier version to expand your age demographic for this app. You could decrease the number of pieces to 4-5 for toddlers. You could also add a feature that lets you automatically advance to another puzzle after one is completed for a smoother game play. (You could add an option to the settings....auto-advance puzzles on/off).
General review This is a great puzzle app for dino lovers! This app is perfect for preschool to elementary aged kids. What makes this app great is the educational values. Not only will your child be completing puzzles; but they will also be learning the names of the dinos (and how to say them), where they lived, what they ate, and how big they were. Easy manipulation of the pieces for little fingers. There are 2 levels with beautiful art and soothing music.

What I liked I like that it is a universal app, I like playing it on the iPad better (due to screen orientation on iPhone, see below). I like all the different elements, there is a lot going on to keep you interested! I like the fruit that you have to bash to get points!
Improvements One the iPhone (I tested on a 5) I would like to see the screen rotate to portrait. It would feel better to hold it and you could do it one handed using your thumbs. I know that is a huge draw for people who play games on their phones. It took me a while to figure out all of the moves and points, I suggest making a tutorial or making a better instructional setting. On the iPhone the camera would zoom in to the volcano too much and I felt like I wasn't going to have access to the controls in time. I would cut those zoom ins. I also would make a function for tilting the device to move the balls.
General review This is an overall great pinball game! I think with a little better tutorials or "how to" this app will be even better. I am not the most game savvy person and it took me a little while to get a hang of it!! It was super fun and challenging! I liked that you had to get your timing right! It kept me coming back and trying to beat my high score. (Then I looked at the leader boards and realized I wasn't even close to being the best!).

Fire Rescue! [text]

Link to the App Store

Rating
What I liked I really liked the different fire safety games in the app. This app is very appealing to my young boys at home!. I really liked how the transition between the game was the maze! This will keep little one's attention to find out what the next task is. The touch response was very responsive and it was easy to manipulate the screen (a big plus for little ones with developing fine motor skills). I appreciated there is a lot of repetition in this app. This is great for teaching new skills to young ones!
Improvements On the first task where the child has to dial 911 on the phone, I would like to see a model (maybe having the buttons light up or a cartoon finger modeling) for the 9 11 and the call button before the child is asked to do it. I would like to see the ability to choose which lesson is displayed (instead of having to go through the whole thing each time). A quiz at the end would make this great! You could ask the student what number do you call if there is a fire? (and present the phone). You could then ask "What should you do if your clothes catch on fire?" (sequence stop/drop/roll) ect..
General review This is such a great way to teach little one about fire safety! This is perfect for 3-6 year olds! It covers basic stuff such as dialing 911, checking door knobs, keeping low to the ground, and stop/drop/roll. It is very engaging and uses many repetitions to help little ones learn and retain the information. There are many tasks to help them learn fire safety including mazes, puzzles, matching, and many more. It come in English/Spanish!

Sentence Builder [text] [video]

What I liked I really like that there is very functional vocab. targets already included in the app. I like that there are punctuation and capital letter skills included (this is great for my kiddos who are learning to be aware of those items in their sentences). I like that you can make your own sentences, use your own pictures, and record responses. The touch and drag is great (the students enjoy dragging the picture to I like how you can track the student's progress and which sentences they have completed. I like how there are two different levels and you can pick which sentence you want to target.
Improvements I think if the students incorrectly places the words/punctuations in the sentence, the words and punctuations should automatically pop back up to the top for them to re-try. My students have found it difficult to manipulate the words at the bottom and I generally have to move them back up to the top for them to start all over. (They get confused when the words move around when they try to manipulate them). I would love to see updated picture stimuli, some of the images look outdated.
General review I love this app! It is a great way to work on vocabulary, sentence structure, and grammar skills. It gives you the ability to store and track multiple users (with progress reports!) and create your own sentences. The ability to create your own sentences is great for encorporating your app into your already made lesson plans (make sentences with the child's current vocabulary or spelling words). This app is easy to use and is great for k-2nd grade

JigSaw Zoo Animal Puzzles - Animated Puzzle Fun for Kids with Funny Cartoon Animals! [text]

Link to the App Store

Rating
What I liked I really love the animations after you complete the puzzles, I haven't seen that before! I really like that you can change the number of pieces and customize the sound and the hints! The graphics and animations are a great quality. I really like the sound effects, the kids I tested this with really enjoyed them! I like that you can choose to have a picture hint if your child needs help!
Improvements One problem I see with this app is that the puzzle pieces cover up the board and it makes it difficult to complete, especially in the 16-20 mode. There is too much distracting visually and children may find this challenging. If you could find a way to leave the pieces outside of the puzzle board, that would make the play much better. I also would like more standard puzzle pieces. The random piece shape is odd, I look at puzzle pieces for cues to find where they go. Some of your pieces make this difficult. I also suggest adding more levels! Maybe locked puzzles to unlock thru completing puzzles
General review A great puzzle app that provides cute and funny animations when you finish a puzzle! Haven't seen another like it. My kids loved these animations and they wanted to complete all the puzzles to see more! Three different levels for all elementary aged kids! You can turn off hints and sounds! Great app and affordable!

Magikid Umbrella v1.0 [text]

Link to the App Store

Rating
What I liked I really like the graphics and animations, very sharp and professional looking! I think it is a neat little interactive story with great touch responses. I like how it compares other things in the world to umbrellas (staying dry) snd then changing them into one, tying it back to the theme if the app. The 3D effect is great and makes it visually appealing.
Improvements I really like the idea of the matching game but wish it was formatted differently, more choices (maybe a change of characters or change the scene). I wasn't a fan of the song, it didn't keep my kids interests and was more of a soothing bed time song. This could be useful to use on a bedtime routine. I would like to see a song with a little more pep and repetitive phrasing that the kids could sing along to. I suggest making a boy character as well and let the child choose the gender at the beginning to widen your audience to boys!
General review This is a cute simple app that would be great for toddlers. A short story about rain and umbrellas with a neat 3d effect and interactive images throughout. This app is perfect for little girls especially because it has a cute doll like character and there is a matching game to dress her up. I would like to see more content but overall great little app!

The sweet song of the world [text]

Rating
What I liked I loved the poetic writing and soothing sounds/narration. This story can relate to kids with autism and its such a beautiful way of describing their world. I love the message in this book that illustrates how human nature gets lost in our world of technology and business, and this little boy lives above all that through the beauty of birds and nature. I love the illustrations, very artistic and original with great animated elements. This app has an "organic" feel and it's one of a kind!
Improvements I love the look of the text in cursive but it may be better for children to read in print. You could make an option that allows you to choose the text style. I would also make an option for narration or not, having to tap the lips button on every page interrupts the flow of this app.
General review This is a beautiful story illustrating the beauty of the world and how it gets lost in human nature. This story is about a little boy who is different and lives in an altered perspective that sees only the beauty of birds and nature. There are great teaching elements for all ages and I love that this book shows loving parents that let their child thrive in his own way instead of trying to make him conform to worldly standards. Very artistic!

Cinderella : 3D Pop-up Fairy Tale v1.0 [text]

Link to the App Store

Rating
What I liked I absolutely loved this book! I like how there were classic book pages with the occasional pop up activity! The tasks in the pop ups are fun and engaging and a hit with the kids I tested with (girls ages 6 and 11) I like that it has a narration and the ability to turn it off. Great vocabulary for the readers! I loved the faces on the step sisters when the slipper didn't fit, lots of laughs!
Improvements The background music was too much, I know you can turn it off however I usually like soothing background music and this was to distracting. Some of the touch elements seemed to lag a little but other than that it was fun and interactive! In the dancing scene after you catch the hearts, the figures look awkward in 2D (they look flat).
General review I love this pop up book app! It turns a classic story into a fun interactive experience! It functions like a typical book app but then you get these unique pop up scenes that have fun little tasks (help Cinderella clean up, catch the prince's heart, try on the glass slipper ect....) Perfect for girls (and boys) of all ages who love this classic tale. This is such a great idea to turn story time into an engaging activity!

Animal Jigsaw Puzzle! v1.2 [text]

Link to the App Store

Rating
What I liked I really like how much you get for the price of this app. There are 20 different puzzles which are all fun with great graphics. I like the different levels of difficulty including the different
number of puzzle pieces and the ability to turn on and off the background picture for hints . My children who range in ages e. 7 really like the puzzles!! I really like the touch input and how it's not too easy to place the puzzle piece. I've seen apps that snap pieces into place even when they're not close to the target spot. I think this feature makes it better for older children too!
Improvements There's not much I can say about improvements to this app! For the price it has a lot of content with good graphics! I think that the 144 pieces is a little much and since you can't see all the pieces on the screen it makes it difficult to complete the puzzle without the hints on. I don't like the links on the main screen to the ratings for iTunes, the Game Center link, and also the other apps page. I think there should be on a different screen. This app seems to be targeted to smaller kids and these buttons create unnecessary page intteruptions.
General review This is an overall great jigsaw puzzle app! It is a great value with a lot of content. You can customize the number of pieces and use a picture hint which allows this app to be used by kids of all ages! They add a great sound and animation when you complete a puzzle which adds to the fun! The only thing I could say is take away buttons that link to iTunes on main page!

Meet the Insects: Forest Edition [text]

Rating
What I liked What is not to love about this app? This is a truly amazing and beautiful app. It is so educational and engaging. I have 3 little boys (ages 5, 6, 7) at home and they were engulfed in this app (they love science stuff). I love the detailed photos with the magnifier and the videos. The Insect stories are a great way to introduce the bugs. The see the insect part was very impressive, I LOVED how you make the bug crawl up/down the tree to learn about the different orders of insects. I like the two different formats for the quiz! This app would be great for all ages! Love the journal!
Improvements This was a hard section to fill out due to my amazement of this app. I did find during the quiz some questions were repeated while you were in the same quiz. I think that is a glitch and may need to be looked at. I also suggest that you add a way to touch the question and have it read aloud. My five year old loves this app but he struggles with reading the question, this makes it difficult for him to play independently. A narration of the questions would solve that problem.
General review This is one of the most well made & beautifully designed apps I have seen! This app is so multi-modally educational. You get to learn facts about bugs, magnify their pictures, move them up/down a tree, watch videos, read stories, & journal your own experiences! The observation journal allows the child to take photos of bugs they have found and write about them!! Great for all ages! Bring bugs to life! This app will turn you into a bug expert!

The Ant and the Grasshopper v1.1 [text]

Link to the App Store

Rating
What I liked I like that this is a shorter book, great for prek, k and 3yos who have shorter attention spans. I like that there is a pop up activity after each page of text, this kept the kids' interest going until the end. I like this classic tale and the moral!
Improvements I would change some of the vocabulary, this is a shorter book so I like to use it with 3yos, prek, and kindergarteners. (Suggestions: change moiling and toiling/ day of necessity). I don't like that the ant looks flat and turns around when you help gather the food. Some of the kids commented on it. If you can't make it more 3D, I would suggest taking out the spinning action.
General review This is a neat pop up book turning a classic tale with a great moral into a fun interactive book! This is great for 3-6 year olds! You get to help the ants prepare for winter and then help the grasshopper after he realizes he should've prepared too! Great touch input! The pop up activities provide more teaching opportunities ( describing the characters, new food vocabulary, and describing actions). Great value!

What I liked I really liked the art work in this app, it gives it a unique look that sets it apart from other apps. The animations through out the app were very cute and entertaining (I especially liked the snowman!). I really liked the different games and activities included. I think it is perfect for 2-4 year olds.
Improvements I would like to see the voice of the animals improved, you will see in my first video that my son had difficulty understanding some of the commands in the app. (sorry for the orientation of the 1st video, I realized it was off afterwards and didn't want to re-take the first impression video). I do not like they design and flow of the app, you are unable to return to the main screen once in the app. I think if you found a way to make levels of difficulties it would increase the age range for the app (some activities were too easy for 5-6 year olds).
General review This is a unique app that is very appealing to younger kids, I think it would be perfect for 2-4 year olds. There is original art work with many different games to keep your child interested. I wish that you could pick the activity you wanted to do, but otherwise it is a great app!

Playground HD1 - 12 games for kids aged 2-6 in 1 App v3.0.0 [text]

Rating
What I liked I really like the variety you get with this app. I really like the touch response very crisp and responsive. I like the variety of tools you have in the coloring game, it allows for kids with developing fine motor skills to color! I like that you have to touch and hold the setting button for 3 seconds, genius (and thank you for putting the external links in the restricted settings!) !! I also love that you can set a time limit on it for your child!! Very neat feature!! I think this app would be perfect for 2-4 year olds!
Improvements I think it would be beneficial to make different levels of difficulty for the app. Your target audience is such a wide age range and you should section it off for younger vs. older kids. My six year old thought some of the games were boring but they were just geared for the little ones. I think the most important thing you could do to this app is to add a quick intro to explain the game when then select it. For example when the select the search game it could say "Can you find what's different?" For erase: "Rub your finger on the screen to find a hidden picture"
General review Very cute app that includes 12 different mini games for your child to play!! Perfect for ages 2-4 years old! There is enough variety to keep your child interested and you can even set a time limit to restrict the amount of time your child is on the app! It comes in 15 different languages! The games cover a variety of skills such as finding differences in pictures, coloring, matching, puzzles, memory, music, tracing, and much more!

Wubbzy's The Night Before Christmas [text]

What I liked I really like all that's included with this book (painting, videos, games, and book!!). I really like the flag menu at the bottom (I like that it is hidden until you need it!). I like the different options while reading the book for different age and learning levels. I like that the book can be interactive, my kids loved touching all the objects on each page to see what they would do! The three modes are great, I like the read and play best (it keeps the kids interested in the book when they get little game breaks!).
Improvements In the painting section, I would like to see an option to free color (I love the automatic coloring with tapping for little ones or kids with fine motor delays) but my 6 year old wanted to color it himself. (I have seen options in apps for free hand or magic color). I would also like to see a free decorate in the tree/snowman game. It would also widen your demographic range. (The matching is great for 2-4 years olds!) On your flag menu, I suggest changing the order, put options at the end.
General review This is more than just a cute book app! This app allows your child to interact while engaging in a story. It come with three different modes to match each child's learning level (Read to me, Read & Play, and Just A Book). It also comes with 3 games, painting, and videos for the kids to enjoy. I really love the Read & Play mode because it keeps the children interested longer! I highly recommend this for ages 3-6!

What I liked I love the idea behind this app! It would be great for college students or people learning foreign languages! I like that how easy it is to record you questions and answers. I like that it is simple and the tabs on the bottom make it easy to navigate through the app.
Improvements I would like to see and different touch input, I don't like the sliding you have to do, it was confusing at first to get used to. I think having the red or green button just to tap would be an improvement. I also experienced difficulty sometimes my audio files that I recorded for the answer would play when the question was supposed to play. I think this app is a great idea but the instructions weren't that clear. I also think that when you push the "test" tab it should automatically show the list of your different subjects that you recorded questions for.
General review This app is a great idea and could be an awesome tool for college students or those wanting a great way to memorize quick facts. It has a simple design that is easy to record your facts and answers. I think it is a handy thing to keep on your iPhone/iPod because you can have access to practicing anywhere you go! (Would be great for those who travel a lot). With a little bit of tweaking this app could be great!

What I liked The characters are original and funny looking I think many kids will like them! I really like all the different games and how they get more challenging as you play which keeps the children interested longer. I like that the app has an overall goal of collecting the codes to unlock the robot!
Improvements I suggest adding a food dictionary where the kidscan click on it and have food categorized by healthy and unhealthy. They could also be described when the kids push on them describing the nutrients like you do during the game. The maze activity is a little bit hard, the food dropped off the screen easily. I would suggest making that a little bit easier to manipulate.
General review This is an interesting application that teaches kids about healthy food choices. It has original art that is different and interesting! It includes six mini games to keep the kids engaged while they learn about food! There is an overall goal of collecting codes to unlock a robot which is perfect for little boys! I recommend this app for kids aged five to eight!

Visual Routine v2.0.2 [text]

What I liked I really like to clean simple look of this application. It is important to have it an uncluttered organized appearance for the purposes of this app and I think you did it! I do like that you included real images for your stock photos it would be nice to have more to choose from that pertain to daily activities!
Improvements I do not like that you can't choose the orientation of the routine either horizontal or vertical. I have students you prefer a vertical orientation over horizontaland sometimes that can make all the difference in the world. Also I was a little confused when I was establishing a routine when it prompted me to "add a choice," a choice board is very different from a visual routine board . This app is a great idea but it is not user-friendly and I found it confusing editing routines or simply completing a routine. I suggest that a clear check be added to show that a task was completed by each.
General review This app is a great idea and could be very useful to a lot of families. It's not as user-friendly as I would like, but it is an affordable price. I do like that it is simple and clean looking which is great for a visual schedule, because there aren't a lot of other distractions!

What I liked I really like this app and I use it in therapy with my language delayed students. I do like how you can test the app out and buy only the desired activities. I like the different forms of the activities including filling the blank, multiple choice, and writing in answers. I like how the app is broken down into topic specific activities, it allows you to really target the skills that the student needs. I like that the lesson that teaches the topic is available at anytime to the left of the practice/test to help when students are struggling with the concept.
Improvements I suggest randomizing the content from the practice mode to the test mode, some of my students were able to perform well on the test because the test content with the same as the practice. I think if you reworded it or paraphrased it in different ways this would truly test the students ability rather then their memorization skills. I do not like that the app comes empty and you have to download the sample questions. I think that content should be loaded up when the app is installed. You just create an unnecessary step that users may find annoying. I didn't see any references for app?
General review These apps come with a lot of content that is available for you to buy and allows you to try out them out before you do! I really like the included lessons that are available at anytime during the practice or test modes to help students who are struggling with certain topics or content! The only thing I could suggest is changing up some of the questions from the practice to the test mode to make it more challenging for the students!

What I liked I like that you move the whole device to control the game. I like how there are different items on the game board to change up the game. I liked the detailed descriptions of the different items and what they do. I like the pace of the ball, it makes it great for kids and adults
Improvements I didn't like how the main menu wasn't labeled. It was confusing (the only one I could figure out just by looking was settings). I liked the detailed descriptions, as stated above, but there were too many and they look so similar that I couldn't remember when I started playing. I suggest making them more distinct, maybe use different colors. I think adding sound effects would also make this app even better!
General review This is a fun addicting game! A tilt to control game play that is easy to get the hang of. Very detailed instructions (there are a lot of different ball-like objects to look out for). I liked it better on my iPhone but works well on iPad too! Great graphics! Well made app? Worth the price!

What I liked I really like how this is an educational interactive book. I liked the different tasks, my five year old liked having something new to do each time. I think the story premise is cute and the narration is nice and soothing. I really like that the parent/teacher has control of when the child moves on from each task. It allows children who have mastered the task to do a few and advance but it also gives those who struggle more time to practice!
Improvements I think the only thing I would change is the font of the letters. I would make them more standard and easier to recognize for beginning readers. I also think that some of the narratives are a little long winded (too long) my 5 year old became board with some of it and wanted to skip ahead to the game. I suggest maybe adding a read it option so that the parent can read it to the child at a pace they are comfortable with. I also think you about section should contain a short description and learner targets (parents and teachers love that). I also suggest adding letter sound tasks!
General review This is a fun and engaging story about an adorable frog who gets lost in a storm. Your child will be engaged in a beautifully narrated story while practicing pre-reading skills such as letter/sound identification, spelling short words, rhyming, and more! This is perfect for 4-5 year olds learning to read. This app is affordable and worth more than $.99 in my opinion!

Animal Planet Hide & Seek Pets [text]

What I liked I really liked the educational value this app has. I liked how each animal had slightly different tasks! My five year old noticed that and he liked it (for example: the cat had a 'hide and seek' and the rabbit had a 'spot the difference.' I love the tracing of the animal names or letters! I am a speech pathologist and the "Who Am I" question with clues is my favorite! I work with many kids who need this kind of language reinforcement! I like the magic coloring that helps little fingers stay in the line while coloring! I love the grown ups corner too! (Expand on that!)
Improvements When I was testing it with my 5 year old this is the only thing he commented on. When you are tapping in the scene with the animal and the facts, My 5yo said "why doesn't it tell about what they eat when you tap the feeder " (we were in the bird scene). Also there was a fact about eye sight, it would've been cool if you tapped the binoculars for that fact. I think if you tried to relate an object in the scene to the fact it would be more meaningful! In the paint section I loved the "magic painting" but 6yo wanted free range to color (maybe make that an option?)
General review This is a fun and educational app that has so many activities, your child will be delighted over and over! It teaches basic facts about pets and then gives the child several fun games to play perfect for 3-5yr olds! It includes a grown-ups corner that gives parents comprehension questions to ask the kiddos after they are finished playing! Games include: painting, tracing, hide/seek, spot the difference, numbers, music, and so much more!

Word Crush Mania v1.1 [text] [video]

What I liked I like that you can not move your letters once you place them, it makes it more challenging! I like that you can earn coins and the spinner is a fun little bonus. I like that there are different challenges, this really keeps you wanting to play it more.
Improvements I would like to see a paid version without the adds popping up. (or you could put the adds on the bottom instead of blocking the whole screen). I would also like to see more inventive ways to use coins that you earn (maybe side bonus games or something like that). I would like to see a separate section for the coins, like it's own button or tab (it only popped up after I played my first two rounds). I would also like to see a help button with a cheat sheet for all of the icons (I don't like having to go back through tutorials).
General review This is a fun word game that is different from other word games out there. It has many challenges and missions that keep you wanting to play. It has different missions to complete and bonus spins for more coins and extra time during rounds! Addicting! Would love a paid version without adds!

Wubbzy's Animal Coloring Book [text]

What I liked I like that there is a magic draw tool to help kids stay in the lines when coloring.
I like that there's a paint brush and different options. My six-year-old tester really like that you could put the stickers on it and change the size by pitching in or out! I like that you can save the drawing as a photo with no external links.
Improvements The introduction screens were too long, it stayed on the cupcake digital screen for a good 7-8 seconds. This is never a plus with apps for kids, I suggest fixing that as soon as possible. When I kid chooses an app to play they should get to tap and play, not tap wait and play!
General review This is a great coloring book with a loved character! The kids will enjoy coloring many different wubbzy scenes with crayon, paint brush, paint bucket, or spray paint tools! It has that magic draw feature to help kids stay in the lines! You can add stickers to the scene too! Lots of fun with many creative options!

Sound Tap Quiz 1.0.5 [text]

What I liked I really like the number of different sounds that you offer in the different categories! I also like that each item has five different sound variations. The quiz setting is really great, and I love that you can choose the number of questions in the quiz for different children's needs. The images are great and I like that the background is clean and simple.
Improvements I think a great improvement would be to be able to choose that exact items you want in the quiz. For some children I would need to only choose three or four animals or other items at a time because the full amount is too much even when you are restricting it to six items in the settings. It would also be nice to choose items from contrasting categories for a quiz.
General review This is a great simple app to use with kids for recognizing common sounds in the environment. You can have them explore the sounds by tapping pictures and each picture has five different sound variations. They include functional categories such as animals, household items, transportation, and more! This app has a quiz where you can test identification of the object by the sound with different settings for different levels. Great value,
