What I liked I love how this app works. It allows me to help me keep track of what I'm spending and earning, and I have noticed I have spent less when I went to the market earlier because I could actually see how much I'm earning vs. how much I'm spending. It's great how I can put everything I buy under the transactions section and it shows me the exact date and time that I purchased each item. Another things that I found with this app is I could use Geo-Location to show where I was when I bought everything that I have mapped on my transactions list. It's also great how it has numerous different currencies
Improvements There is really not much that could be improved with this app. One thing that I can think of that I would like to see added is different themes for the app because it looks kind of boring the way it is set up now. I would also like to have it so my info could be shared to my iPad so I wouldn't have to enter in all this data twice. These are really the only two things that I can see need improved about this app.
General review In all this app is great for what it was made for. You can easily track how much you are earning and spending to save money. And I can say I did save a little money earlier at the market because I could see that I probably couldn't afford as much as I had in my cart. The design is a bit boring, but it's not too much of an issue. So my opinion is that if you need to track your spending better, get this app.

Be a Buddy, Not a Bully -- A Tales of Midlandia Storybook v0.9 [text]

What I liked I love how this book teaches younger children how to read with three different reading types. They can have the book read to them, have it automatically go by itself, and once they have learned to read they can read it independently. The animations in this book are really nice and smooth. The book itself is really sad at first and gets touching later on. At one point my six year old brother constantly asked me why someone would do a mean thing like that, and once he was done reading the book he said he never wanted to bully anyone like that, so it really does teach kids a great lesson.
Improvements To be improved I think that the book should get different reading levels. At the beginning it should ask what reading level you are (Beginner, Regular, or Advanced) and with each level up the book uses harder words such as instead of saying, "He was very mean to me," they could say something like, "He was very hurtful towards me." I would also like to see maybe a female voice reading because sometimes a female voice can be more comforting to small children.
General review In my opinion this is an all around great reading app that can easily teach kids how to read, and it teaches them a lesson about bullying. There are not too many things that should be improved, but there are a couple small features that could be added. My little brother loved reading this book and really got attached to the two main characters. I have kept the app on my iPad and he has been reading it about once every night.

Math Guardians 1.5 [text]

What I liked There were many things I liked about this app. First of all I loved how there was a full tutorial on how to play the game. It showed exactly how to play the game. I also like how there are multiple difficulties to play on for kids of different ages. I also like how the creatures you can be differ from "Cool" to "Cute" so that boys and girls can both play. Also, I like how you made it so there was a time limit to collect energy, so children would have to solve the problems in a certain amount of time. And last, I love this app because it combines what small kids love the best and math.
Improvements I would like to see harder enemies to defeat because even my six year old younger brother found almost all of the enemies to be very easy. It was pretty difficult to even lose health at all. This might be a problem because kids would get bored of the app easily. It would also be cool if there were other game types like a mode where you have a time limit to kill the enemy or something like that.
General review This app is really great and educational. There were no problems with it, just some features would be awesome if added. I do think that the enemies are a bit too easy even for small kids. I think my younger brother did learn a lot from this app, he seemed to get faster at the problems as he went along. As a conclusion I would hands down recommend this app for any child trying to learn math.

Pin Tiki Ball 1.0 [text] [video]

What I liked I liked how the app is smooth with lots of bonuses and lots of added features (example: cooling the lava to allow the ball into the west side of the volcano). It's nice how it has different languages for people all around the world. I also liked how it is HD for the iPad so that when I play it on my iPad its not blurry. I also did like how there are different camera views which allow you to see the game from different angles.
Improvements I would love to see some sort of a money system added to this in which you could earn money from your points and spend them on different themes for the app, or some sort of added features so that it gives people something to work towards. Then also if there was a money system added you could add in-app purchases to buy more ingame money. I would also like to see video clips showing you what each part of the map does instead of 1 sentence explanations because I found those a bit confusing. The last thing I think you should add to this app is different levels to keep the game from getting boring
General review Overall I did like this app and definitely would recommend it to others. It has a smooth, nice display and is HD. The only reason I would rate this app 4 out of 5 instead of 5 out of 5 is that I found the game to get a bit boring after playing it for a while. Adding more levels would definitely help with it getting boring too fast. I actually think you could get away with making this app $1.99 though. I have never seen an HD app $.99 before.

What I liked There were many things I really liked about this app. First of all, I like how there is a special point of view for young readers and one for older readers. This lets people from a larger variety of age groups want this app. I also enjoy the read to me option for people just learning to read. I think the quizzes to test the comprehension of the story were great too. It teaches kids to not only read the words, but to also understand them and comprehend them. I also found the Bits and Bobs section of the app to be a nice addition that makes it stand out from other apps.
Improvements I don't know what the issue is but this app is HUGE. It takes up so much space on my iPad it makes me want to delete it after I finish reading it, which is a shame. I don't know if there is a way you can compress the book or something, but it is very large for a book. It is 380 Mb. Also, in other books my brother has read, you could speed up or slow down the voice that was reading. It would also be great if you could make it so a person could record the book such as grandma, mom, dad etc. to keep the child feeling comfortable with the voice reading to them.
General review The problem with this app is that there are many extra cool features it could have that would make it stand out to other book apps. The only extra thing I have seen in this app is the Bits and Bobs section, which is a neat little addition. I did like the quizzes to test the comprehension of the story and I like how it is fit for all ages. Overall this app tells a great story, it just doesn't have some cool features that other reading apps have.

What I liked I like how this app allows me to make collections of pictures all together into a notebook, and not just single pictures by themselves. This allows me to make a sort of "slideshow". I also like the copy and paste feature this app has. It might seem very simple, but believe it or not I haven't come across any other drawing app that allows me to do that. I also like the fact that you can change the transparency of lines in case you need something to stand out more than something else. It is also very cool that you can import photos into the app so you can make something like a collage.
Improvements I think it would be really cool if this app would allow you to record yourself while you draw. I have come across an app that did that once and it was very cool. I also think that a multi-drawing tool should be added so that two people could draw at once. This would help if parents are allowing more than one kid to play on the app at once. I also wish to see an eraser that doesn't delete your entire stroke when you use it, because this can get to be quite annoying.
General review This is a very nice app for anybody who loves drawing. However, for $1.99 I think there could be some cooler features added such as being able to record yourself drawing or being able to have a multi-drawing. Although this app does have a couple of unique features such as being able to import photos and make different transparency lines. I would reccoment this app to other people because there are also very few bugs and the app runs very smoothly

metronome [text]

Rating
What I liked I really like the multitouch feature of this app. It allows for quick changes if you are in the middle of a song and the beat changes. This is the only metronome app I have come across that has this. I also love the simplicity of this app. You just set the beat to whatever you need it to go to and you're done. The third thing I liked about this app was that you can create your own presets of beat and tempo. This allows you to quickly start the tempo of songs you frequently play. I also liked the feature that told you what tempo you tap at in case you would like to know the tempo of a song.
Improvements One improvement I could see made to this app is being able to create different colors and themes to keep the background from getting too boring. Also, could you make the pause button a bit bigger? It is kind if hard to hit that tiny pause button in the middle of playing a song if you need to stop it really quick. And it would also help if every time I logged into the app it didn't spam asking me to write a review about the app. I also wish that the tuning fork allowed you to run guitars or other instruments as well, because people do not only use your app for piano.
General review This is a great app for any kind of musician that needs to keep a beat. It's multitouch feature allows for quick, easy, and simple setting of tempo. The app is simple and easy to use. I do think it would be great if there was a little bit of personal customization such as changing the theme and such. This app does exactly what it says it needs to, keeps perfect beat for instrument playing.

Hamster Chase [text] [video]

What I liked First of all, I love the backgrounds in this app. They are creative and always in motion instead of just a solid colored background. I also really liked the ability to customize the tilt sensitivity so I can set it higher and I have to barely turn it to move. Another thing I liked was that you can earn a gold, silver, or bronze medal on each level so you get a feel of how good you are doing. I also like how skipping levels isn't free like it is in the app "Cut the Rope".
Improvements I would like to see in-app purchases for coins in the game. People who want to skip levels, but are out of coins would have to buy more. I also think powerups should be incorporated such as 10 second vacuum/cat immunity. There should also be a store where you an buy these powerups with coins. This would also promote the in-app purchases. I also didn't like the virtual hamster cage on this app. It seems irrelevant and boring. To make it a bit more exciting you could feed the hamsters daily to earn coins. I also think there should be a video tutorial section of this app to teach you how to play.
General review This is a very well thought out app with carefully designed levels to make them more difficult. There are a couple of fun features that could be added to the app to get a more fun experience such as a store for coins, or an improved virtual hamster cage. Other than that the app has worked perfectly for me and it can get to be very addictive!

AdjustGrid / version1.0 [text] [video]

What I liked I love how the grid on this app allows me to line up and focus my shot to make sure every shot I get is perfect. I also really like the section of this app that explains what each of the different grids can be used for. It has really helped me to get great pictures that look professional. I also like the timer on the app. I don't even think the default photo app has this! I also really like the gradienter because it allows me to aid me in making my picture even, and not crooked.
Improvements I would like for there to be an option for a front camera shot on this app. I can see this being a major issue because lots of people enjoy taking pictures of themselves. I also think it would be cool to have different themes (black & white, underwater, etc.) such as instagram. I also think it would be very helpful to have an in-app photo editor for things like red-eye and cropping. This would make it so people would not even have to leave your app to fix their pictures.
General review This is an amazing app for taking professional pictures (especially landscapes). The only problem with this app is that it does not include a front camera option and it doesn't include a photo editor. Other than this, the app includes awesome features such as a gradienter and a focus grid.

Calm Down Now [text]

What I liked My favorite feature of this app was the relaxing sounds section of the app. For the past couple of days I have been falling asleep to different sounds every night. So far my favorite sound has been the Ocean Waves. I like the sleek design of the app as well. The blue background creates a calming effect even when you are looking at your phone. The app is also very easy to navigate even my little brother could use it.
Improvements There are a few things I think need to be improved about the app. A couple of the sounds have been skipping at night causing me to wake up. I have noticed this in the TV Static and Windy Day. Also some of the empowering techniques could be clearer such as the Tapping in Tranquility. You could maybe add video instructions to help clarify. I also have AirPlay on my computer and the sounds are very glitchy and skippy. However, this could be because I have a slower internet connection. I would like to see a more customizable interface added to the app such as different color schemes.
General review Although there are a couple of issues with the app such as a few tracks that skip and the AirPlay being a bit glitchy, I really enjoyed this app. It is an app that effectively fixes an issue many people around the world have, sleep. The past few days that I have been using this app I have seen a difference in the way I have been feeling throughout the day and I have had a lot less stress.

Spellyfish - Short A Words (v1.0.0) [text]

Link to the App Store

Rating
What I liked There were many functions of the app, "Spellyfish- Short A Words," that I liked. First if all, the instructions are very clear for small children to comprehend. It does not require the user to initially be able to read, which is a key function of any app teaching reading skills. Another feature I especially love about this app is that you can track your progress and can tell parents whether their children are truly improving by using this app.
Improvements On the other hand, I did see many opportunities for improvement in this app. First of all, I wish parents could be able to create their own customizable lessons- this could help kids who have spelling tests in elementary school and need to study. Another improvement I wish to see implemented would be some sort of version for older kids (maybe dislexic or autistic kids) that would not have appear to be made for "Babies" because they would not take the app seriously.
General review All in all, I really enjoyed reveiwing this app because I always love to see apps that teach skills. This app could really make a difference in some peoples' lives whether it be the child's life, or even the parent's life. Although there is some room for improvement, I believe this app has established a strong base to improve upon such as adding features for older kids and allowing parents to create their own lessons
