What I liked Seriously impressed! This app has voice options, ABC/QWERTY keyboard options, background options, animation, appearance, etc. that are super impressive! I love the ability to change the background because the colors send me into sensory overload! I'm sure the colors are great for the little ones! There are multiple lists available for the spelling section and the user has the ability to create custom lists. I also REALLY appreciate that there is a profanity remover option. This is a great tool to work on a necessary skill!

Improvements I'm not seeing much need for improvement, but if there was an option to "click and drag" tiles to the word to help with early learners, before the quiz section, that would be on my wish list. I suppose that would be a matching game, of sorts. The only other thing is that the "?" for the hint is slightly deceiving, but easily discovered.

General review This a great tool that is easily customized depending on the user. For those that are just beginning to spell, there are lists available. Personalized lists can be created, which allows for increased difficulty! Multiple options are available to benefit the user. This application can grow with the user and can be used across ages. For the price, this app is a must-have!

What I liked *I love the wide variety of built-in lists for the spelling quizzes. Not only have you provided dolch words (which are necessary for early literacy), but you also provided the 1000 most frequently used words.
*I like that this app meet the needs for a variety of children. Both my daughters (4K and 2nd grade) enjoyed the app.
*I like the ability to be able to create our own lists. This will be great for spelling tests.

Improvements *Being an SLP, I'm concerned that it is incorrectly pronouncing sounds. While I'm not sure how it can be done (as I'm not an app developer), I wonder if there is a way for the sounds to be correctly pronounced when placed in the word. For example, for the word "many", as you start to spell it, you hear "mah" when you put the letters M and A. When the "y" is picked it says "yah", which should be "eee".

*It's challenging to get from the "activity" screens back to the main menu. An icon for main menu would be more helpful and easier than clicking on the "settings" icon and tapping Main me

General review This is nice app to provide children with a way to practice spelling a wide variety of words from built-in lists (such as food, dolch words, numbers) or custom made lists. My daughters (grade 4K and 2nd) had a fun time playing the activities. My only hesitation is with the pronunciation. It's sometimes hard to tell which words they want you to spell. For example, my daughter was asked to spell "or" and we though they said "are".

What I liked I really like the customizable options in this app! Thanks for the Qwerty keyboard option (my kids hate it when its only in alphabetical order!) I love the different voice options and the ability to speed up the voice and change the tone, I haven't seen that before in a spelling app! I love all of the built in lists and the ability to create my own. I can use this in speech therapy by making spelling lists that include specific phonemes I want the students to work on! This will be great for my kids who are k-2nd grade at home! Thanks for including the hint button and the phonics option.

Improvements I would re-vamp the rewards in the app, the older kids seemed to be bored with the touch animations included. Also a better reporting option (maybe an emailable mini-report after a spelling session). I like the different speech options but some words are still unclear (I had to push the speak button 3 times for some of the words). The word "be" was very hard for my 5 year old to understand.

General review One of the best spelling apps I have seen. Very customizable with many built in lists and the ability to create your own list. I really appreciate the phonics feature you can turn on as you practice spelling. You can really tailor the app to your child's needs. Great for prek-4th graders. This app is perfect for teachers and parents to incorporate their student's spelling lists each week. At the end of a list you get a mini report!

What I liked Word Wizard is a great application due to the ability to customize the application for each child. When a child touches a letter, it will read either the letter name or the sound depending on the settings you choose. When sounds are combined the application blends the sounds together. In addition to the ability for the child to create his or her own words/sentences, the application includes createable spelling quizzes. At the end of the quiz, accuracy is tabulated, which makes it easier for teachers to track student progress. The application is very motivating for children!

Improvements I would like to see some male voices for the application in the future to appeal to both genders of children. Another aspect that I would like to see in an update would be the ability to practice vocabulary words in sentences for older students. Also, I would like to see a grid to place the letters on that is locked so that children must fill in words/sentences in order rather than all over the grid. Finally, it would also be great to have additional punctuation available such as question marks, commas, and exclamation points to practice different types of sentences.

General review Overall, Word Wizard is a very ambitious application that is very customizable. The amount of work placed into this application is definitely noticeable. You can customize the voice, letter size, uppercase/lowercase, keyboard type, phonic reading/letter name reading, keyboard emulation, and create your own spelling quizzes. The application comes with so many amazing features and quizzes that it is definitely worth every penny!

What I liked First of all, I really liked the colorful background with the twinkling stars. It created a very magical, mystical, happy setting. Second, the positive reinforcement with shooting stars, flowers and sounds of nature when you got a word correct was great. I liked the few blurbs with easy directions. I also liked that there were 3 options for the voice--kinda fun to have a variety. I especially like the feature where you hit the letter and the voice makes the sound and where you tap the word and the voice says the word--a great feature for kids and adults learning english.

Improvements Overall, I liked this app. The only thing that I thought could use a different approach is when you got a word wrong, there is no sound or graphic indicating that you spelled the incorrect word. Maybe put in a graphic with the word "oops, try again" or something similar. I think it would be helpful for those people learning english, just some kind of indicator.

I would like to see a Spanish version so I can learn Spanish.

General review Overall, I think this is a fun, cheerful app that will help kids and adults learn English. I really like the layout with the happy colors and sparkling stars. The positive reinforcement when you get a word correct is great--you hear nature sounds and see colorful butterflies, stars, flowers, rings, etc.. I also like that you get to see your score and the words that you got correct in the end, making it a very good teaching tool.
