What I liked This is one of the best Apps I have seen for number learning for ages 2-5 and the developmentally disabled. Older children could use the App for basic addition and subtraction review. The graphics are engaging and clear. The music is upbeat and appropriate. The narration is clear and child friendly. The ability to record yourself saying the numbers and then revert to the default voice is an excellent learning tool. A child can explore the different ways to compose a number using the digits of both hands. The addition and subtraction problems are narrated as well as displayed

Improvements The ability to turn off the music independently of the narration would be a plus. The Cowly Owl icon on the opening page gives access to the internet and the purchase of an additional App so supervision of the child using the App would be necessary given the targeted age group. The introduction could use a voice over stating something like 'Put your fingers on the screen'.

General review Lots of learning opportunities with this App in number sense, basic math skills and number vocabulary through the use of 3 senses, touch, hearing and speech. The recording of your voice saying the numbers is a terrific. The App will hold the interest of a child through the basics of learning the numbers through learning and review of basic addition and subtraction facts 0-10. This would be a great App for the older developmentally disabled.

What I liked The app looks really good. I tested it on my 8 year nephew. He really seemed to enjoy it a lot. Colors chosen in the app are really good. They characters are very well drawn and look good. Interface is simple and easy to navigate so he did manage on his own. Even my other 5 year old was really interested in interacting with the app. So I would say it was a hit....

Improvements My opinion is that even more features could be added to this app to make it even more fully featured. I think a reward system would be great to keep them interested in the app. An example: If they get the answer right a story/movie is told chapter by chapter as they advance...

General review A very polished app with gorgeous illustrations. Easy to navigate and intuitive makes this app a must try for the young ones. Sound effects are also very well built, as I really enjoyed the soft voice the app is using. A very interactive app. Keep up the great job

What I liked The digits for the numerals 0 through 9 are adorable! They are colorful and animated, and therefore very appealing to small children. When my 3 year old grandson first played with it he literally laughed out loud as he placed his fingers on the iPad. This app is very unique and there is nothing like it out there that teaches children the numbers 1 through 10 in such an inviting and hands-on way. As a teacher, I also loved how it continuously goes back to 0 when there are no fingers, reinforcing the concept of 0.

Improvements It would be better if the addition section had two different levels, with an easier level that only includes the digits 1 through 5 for each addend. When a problem like 6 + 2 is presented to young children, they sometimes lack the dexterity and small muscle skills to be able to place 6 fingers down and then place 2 more digits from the same hand. Also it would be nice if the numbers were slightly smaller so children had more room to place their fingers. Lastly, while the voice is very cute, it pronounces the 4 with a w sound, which isn't helpful to this age group.

General review This is a wonderful and innovative app that allows young children to use their fingers to count in an engaging way. The animations are adorable and colorful, and look like friendly monsters. After children learn to use their fingers they are introduced to addition and subtraction in the same engaging and non-threatening way. They can make mistakes with no bad consequences, so they can keep trying until they get the correct answer. Bravo!

What I liked I was drawn to the app with the premise that fingers could be placed on the app to teach counting and help with addition and subtraction. The app lived up to what I was expecting. It was easy to use the kept track of the fingers well. Rarely did we have to replace our fingers on it to get it to work. Seemed to really engage the students I had using it because it provided a tactial and physical component.

Improvements Placing our fingers on the iPad worked well put it did get a little crowded. I thought it would be good if I could purchase a set of 10 pieces I could set on top that would be counted as added. I have seen several other games that comes with pieces. I feel this would be a good addition. The games pieces are something the user could decide to add or not; could be especially helpful for an iPad mini user where screen space is limited.

General review Overall I really liked this app and felt it would be good for the PreK-K range and older struggling users. It's a little to easy for my advanced 1st grade son but I could see where he would have really liked it a year, two years ago. It's about right for my 3 year old daughter.

What I liked I loved the fact that it is easy for children to use, even if they can't read yet. I really like how they can record their own voice for the numbers and function symbols. It also follows them through several years of learning as they learn to count, then add, and then subtract.

Improvements I like the space/alien theme, but maybe there could be more theme options in later versions. I can't think of anything else to improve on. I really like the app and features. Maybe there could be a "Big Digits" app created that is for older children.

General review I love this math app! It is easy for children to use, educational, and fun. Children love the touchscreen and using their fingers to count, add, and subtract. The option of recording their own voice for the numbers is an added bonus. The price is reasonable and you get more than your money's worth.
