What I liked This is a really excellent spelling app. I love how each word is accompanied by its usage in a sentence. The hint system works very well, It helps the user to get the correct answer but it doesn't give the answer away. The results page gives you detail results so you always know what words you need to work and concentrate on.

Improvements There really is nothing to complaint about the app. The developer did a great job in making sure that everything works and works well. If I really have to pick something that is negative about the app then perhaps maybe the graphic presentation is a little dry but that's just me being very very picky.

General review This is a great and excellent spelling apps. The narrator's voice is very clear and easy to understand. The words variation are great and it will keep the kids busy for a while. You can easily keep track of results and see what words you need to review or concentrate on. Highly recommended.

What I liked I love the way the categories are organized and the explanations. The voice is clear and slow. The ability to move letters around, phonemic hints etc makes it a versatile app with different cueing levels. As an SLP to be (in aug) i love the features of this app. Great phonemic awareness activity combined with the alphabetic principle. There are so many exceptions in english and this app handles those beautifully.

Improvements 1)Ability to choose words from a bank. 2)ability to record voice for the words. Although there are 3 accent options, sometimes a speech client benefits from hearing the slp's voice. And recording will allow for some extention activities like definition, cloze sentences, synonyms etc. it will expand the scope of simplex to language and phonics. Some kids need simpler sentences or just the word. 3)multiuser for group therapy 4)ongoing data tracking so progress can be stored within the app. Ability to email or print scores would be awesome.

General review Great phonemic awareness app. I come from a grad program that lays a huge emphasis on literacy and the scope of a SLP in that area and this is definitely one of my top recommendations to my fellow classmates and clinic supervisors. Ability to customize and allowing multi-users in the same sessions would make it a 5 for me!

What I liked I like the color coding of the tiles as they are placed in the spelling area and the availability of multiple spelling lists that increase in complexity. The app has a "teacher" to provide a "lesson" on a sound for additional instruction. A user can be added for data tracking capabilities The words "mastered" and "practiced" are used when looking at progress. Both terms are encouraging and not demeaning for the users! There is the ability to change the keyboard option from ABC to QWERTY.

Improvements I struggled to find the "help" section. The FAQ is in the "email" icon, which is deceiving. I'd like more than one user to be able to participate at a time. It is hard to determine when the word was "mastered" as there isn't date/percentage availability. Is there a way to "reset" a spelling list so that it doesn't show multiple errors? If a letter is misplaced in the word, the word is automatically "practiced" even with the "backspace" being utilized to correct the error. A "quiz" section would be great to check complete accuracy of spelling words without the color tiles or hint options.

General review This is a great application with intricate detail. There are multiple facets that are provided to maximize the success rate. Data collection is a possibility; however, it does not track by date or number of words. Encouraging terms are used throughout for added motivation. Only one user can be selected at a time, so the possibility of group play is eliminated. There is a "lesson" provided and hints allowed. I would recommend this app!

What I liked I love how intuitive the app is. Even though it is so intuitive, a new user is immediately launched into an introduction of how the app works, which is very helpful for a child learning to navigate it on his or her own. The sheer number of lessons that you get with this one purchase is amazing!

Improvements The user can put the letters out of order if she wishes, which may be helpful for some, but I would like to see an option that a parent might turn on to have the child only be able to spell the word in order. Also, if you enter a letter out of order and then have to delete a letter that comes before that last one, you end up having to delete everything, which is a little annoying. That situation wouldn't arise if the option mentioned previously were implemented.

General review This is a wonderful app for someone just learning to spell. I can already see my beginning speller (five-year-old) improving by leaps and bounds after just a handful of lessons. I can't wait to see what she can do after going through the whole program. It really is a tremendous amount of content for a relatively low price.

What I liked I liked that you can create users and track accuracy. I also liked the ability to select which list you want the child to practice spelling. There are 42 lists to target the different rules in English spelling. I loved the ability to switch the keys to a standard keyboard. My 5 year old didn't like it when the keys were in alphabetical order, he was much faster with the standard keyboard.

Improvements I didn't like how much the narrator talked for each word. The instructions were too long and she spoke way too much. It was distracting for my child. There is an option to turn the voice down or off but this isn't a good option because the child needs to hear the word to spell. I would recommend just shortening it or adding an instruction narrative at the beginning. Then just have the voice say the word to be spelled before each word. I also would recommend adding the ability to create your own list, this would make this app even better!

General review This is a great app to work on basic spelling for beginners or kids who struggle with spelling rules. The app is simple to use and set up. You can create users and track their progress throughout the app. There are 42 spelling lists targetting rules of English spelling. If they added the ability to add your own spelling list, this app would be perfect!
