Wubbzy's 123 Learn & Play [text]

App description: Learning to count is as easy as 1-2-3 in this new app. Interactive tracing activities promote number recognition and writing, while playful counting games help develop early math skills. Fun tap-to-paint coloring pages and sing-along music videos starring Wubbzy and his friends add to the excitement. For children ages 4–7.

What I liked As with all Cupcake Digital apps, this is app is very solidly designed. It runs well, responds great to the touch of little fingers, and features fun music and sound effects. The app itself is best suited for children between the ages of four and five and has some really fun elements. The tracing game is especially fun for kids who are interested in learning how to write, though younger kids will likely find it a bit frustrating. The coloring book is fantastic for kids of all ages, and the five year old who tests apps with me asked if he could color multiple times throughout the day.

Improvements The app is solid, there's not really a lot that you can say bad about it. Older kids won't enjoy this as much as the younger ones will, so the audience is a bit limited. The tracing app is a bit unforgiving with clumsy little fingers, but some children will likely find it challenging and fun. My only real complaint is that like most things geared toward children, there are some pretty grating sound effects in this game. I recommend giving your child headphones or not allowing them to crank the volume very high if they are going to be playing this around you.

General review Overall it's a good app. For less than a box of crayons and a coloring book, this app will likely hold the attention of a preschooler for quite some time. It's well designed and easy for little kids to handle on their own without much assistance from adults. The five year old who tests these apps for me gives it two thumbs up and will never let me remove it from my iPod, because he insists that he should be allowed to color whenever he wants!

What I liked Great tutorial and help options make this easy for adults to guide their young children through the numerous activities in this fun and beautiful app. Interaction abounds to keep preschoolers entertained while learning how to count. The videos are colorful and fun. The games allow for various levels of learner to interact according to their ability level.

Improvements I can't wait to see the next level of counting from 11-20 to be released. It would be nice if the stickers in the coloring area could be resized once placed on the coloring page. There is very little to improve upon in this app, as is typical with this developer. Great job!

General review This app should keep preschool aged children entertained for a long time. There are differentiations within each activity to keep children of varied ages occupied and content to open this app. Adults will be happy to allow their children to use this app since counting is woven into the activities in such way that children will be learning without knowing they are learning! This app is worth every penny spent to purchase.

What I liked I love the tracing parts. This is a great way to teach kids the proper way to write numbers. I also really like the animations that go along with each number.
The counting games are great - fun, engaging, and really focus on the numbers and the counting.
The color part is fun and I love all the options of coloring methods and colors.

Improvements When tracing the numbers, I'd like to see the line turn solid so that it stands out more. Also on the tracing, when touching the items in the tracing, it would be great if there would be someone counting out loud.
I would also like for the tracing pages to automatically move on after a period of inactivity. I know my younger children wouldn't tap the arrow and would be distracted by something else.

General review Great app for practicing numbers - tracing, counting, and number recognition. Te fact that Wubzy is part of it is just a big plus!
The number tracing shows the correct way to write a number, and there are great animations to go along with it!
There are also fun games that practice counting, and coloring pages with numbers! Great fun for kids!

What I liked 1. The tracing part of the application is great. The graphics look very nice, interesting characters and very nice interactions with them. The multi section numbers are great for kids who just started the wonderful jurney.
2. The videos are a nice bonus is this application. It would be nice to see more in the future.
3. For 2 dollars, this is a great value application. Lots of games and nice pages to paint.

Improvements 1. The volume toggle in the video playback is laggy on my iPad 2. It affects the overall feel of the app.
2. When painting, the more button on the top left and the + button on the right side are in the way. Kids accidentally press them when trying to paint in the corners. Please move them.
3. The pop up menu, from the bottom, is kind of useless. Painting is the same as coloring, games are the same games and tracing is tracing. You could integrate the remaining: videos and options on the main screen and ditch the pop up menu.
4. Please app an option so kids cand trace all the numbers in one go.

General review This is another wonderful application from Wubbzy. Learning the numbers is critical and with the help of this app it's very easy to teach in the classroom. There are a few minor improvements to make, but nothing is so bad to keep me from giving this app a five stars rating.

What I liked The graphics were great! I really like the character Wubbzy and find the aesthetics to be fantastic. My nephew liked the characters and enjoyed the coloring section of the app. Many coloring games are difficult and frustrating. He enjoying this coloring very much.

Improvements The tracing section either doesn't work well or I don't know how to use it. The dots turned yellow once or twice, but only rarely. I'm assuming that is how you trace? I like the concept of this and my nephew would LOVE the race car but something is not working with it.

The touch animations are slow. There is a delay when you touch a bubble or some other feature.

General review I like the concept and think it could be a good app, but the tracing is too frustrating. I tried for 10 minutes to figure out how this works, even read the help. My nephew lost interest long before that. The coloring section works great and the graphics are good but the tracing is the crucial part of the app.

What I liked This is a great app focused on fun! I love that the user is exposed to counting in a different, yet engaging, way. I love that the user can trace a number and then experience interaction with the objects of focus. I love that the coloring section has a tutorial, but more importantly that it can be skipped, if desired. I LOVE that this is attached to common core and that each of the games is aligned to a standard. This is a great tool to use at home and at school! Great tool!

Improvements I would like an option to shut off the stops in tracing. For instance in "9", the user creates a circle, but then has to re-establish a point to make the line down. In reality, the user does not re-establish a point. This would be a great starting point to gain accuracy; however, in time, removing that prompt would be helpful.

General review This app is fun and engaging for our littlest learners. This app incorporates games that are aligned to common core standards. Genius! Beyond that, tracing is involved, which allows the little ones to gain exposure to drawing the numbers while learning to count. Each page is enveloped in interactive possibilities. I am very impressed with this app! It's certainly one that should be utilized in and out of the classroom setting!

What I liked Wubbzy apps are so great! There are so many positives with little to no negatives! I like that you can choose different icons in the tracing section. The videos are so catchy with great messages too. I like the tutorial in the paint section. This is a well thought out app!

Improvements This section is difficult because the app is really good how it is. I wish on the princess and the meatball games you can choose either the numbers in order ( how it is now) or random order to mix it up. The other games have them in more of a random order.

General review Wubbzy 123 is another great app in the series. There are so many activities to learn, play, and have fun. This app is well worth the price and will keep a child interested in it for a long time. There are coloring pages, games, videos, and much more!

What I liked Fun and entertaining. Kids enjoyed the various activities. The interactiveness of the number tracing helped to hold even the youngest child's attention. Various games were fun and enjoyed by preschoolers, the various gamers were fantastic for encouraging number recognition.
Well priced app from a strong developer.

Improvements Would like to see the number tracing to be altered so that the tracing path is all one fluid motion unless it isn't suppose to be (ie 2 is different to 4). Would also be great if within the "Save the Pets" game that as a child taps on pets to count them that they turn a different colour to prevent double counting. Would also like the games to have a random option where numbers appear not in numerical order.

General review Yet another solidly created, fantastic app from this developer. Lots of different activities that are all engaging, educational and fun! Cute characters, pleasant sounds and an app that parents and kids both love. No easy access to the Internet keeps children focussed on the app they should be playing.

What I liked This app is a fun way for children to practice counting. The tracing is a very good way to reinforce learning numbers, there are several vehicles you can choose from to trace with including a race car and a train. There is a huge coloring book section where you can color on scenes with numbers it has different brushes, paints, chalk, and stickers . There are 5 different counting games and 3 bonus videos.

Improvements I would like to see the tracing go up to at least 20. It is important to be able to count to 10 and get a firm understanding of those numbers but by 5 or 6 years old most children should be able to count higher. Sometimes it seems like the app does not respond to my finger properly when I am trying to trace so I have to try a few times, I think that could be somewhat frustrating to children.

General review Like all of the Wubbzy apps my daughter and I have tried so far this is app is both fun and educational. The tracing game is very fun but it would be nice if it was expanded beyond 1-10. Overall this app is a very good value for the money. There is a really good coloring book and many bonuses including 3 videos and 5 counting games.

What I liked After downloading the app, I took a look at the Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! TV show and I think this app is a wonderful addition to it. The tracing feature is a nice technique for encouraging children to learn their numbers and the vehicles are really nice to look at. The coloring pages are something that all kids will enjoy and there's quite a few ways to make a great piece of artwork. The music videos are a big favorite in my family, they're very entertaining and engaging and zany, they're great to sing along to.

Improvements At this time, I don't see anything that needs to be improved. The app pretty much covered everything I had hoped for. I would like to see more educational games added in the future when the kids have finished, have outgrown or become uninterested in the current ones (which shouldn't be for quite a while).

General review Educational and zany fun. A great addition to the Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! TV show. There's plenty of things for children to do within the app, whether it be learning their numbers, creating wonderful pieces of artwork or having silly fun singing and dancing to the music videos.
