What I liked This app is great for younger kids to learn their first words. I like that the words are grouped together so if the kids needs to practice certain group of words we can easily choose to do so. The graphics of the app is very cute and age appropriate.

Improvements The app started with almost no sound or music whatsoever. At first I thought that the iPad was on mute but it wasn't. Even clicking on any of the category doesn't have any sound indication. It wasn't until the first word was played that I hear the sound. In the home screen. There is an arrow to the left of All Words and an arrow to the right of Other... I find that its misleading because there is nothing to the right or to the left of it. Perhaps it is useful after I buy an additional set of words but since I didn't buy one I can't verify this. The sound of letter H sounds fun

General review I like this app and its really great for young kids in helping them practice and to learn their first word. Each of the word letter is sounded so they can really get familiar with the word via sight and hearing. There are a lot of words in the app to keep kids busy for a while.

What I liked With this app I loved how many different words are included in the app. The app is bright and colorful throughout. I loved how this app introduces spelling to young children along with teaching them the different vocabulary words. The pictures relate well with the word that is presented. I also love all the options included that help allow this app to last longer then others then I have seen.

Improvements I would love to see the options button moved off the home screen. A child can easily press this button and lead the child to the options, additional apps, and other websites a parent may not want their child on. Not all people know how to turn these options off in the iPad or do not wish to turn them off but also do not want their children to be able to access them within an app ment for them. To solve this problem it should be removed from the home screen or add a parent lock to get into this section.

General review This app is fun, educational, and very easy to use. This app can grow with your child when options are used to adjust to your childs needs. My children find this app fun and enjoyable. As the parent I love that my children are learning not only vocabulary words but also beginning spelling.

What I liked I utilized this app in conjunction with my 2 year old son and 3 year old nephew as per request by the developer. The app was extremely effective when it came to engaging them in top-notch fun and learning. Their experience with the app proved to be great after just a few uses and they constantly bugged for the iDevice back to play more. The phonics were great and the apps colors and activeness was essential and hit spot on. The flow of the app was also great for the kids that didn't really have much experience with my device.

Improvements There were a few places in the app that I had to navigate because the kids got stuck or didn't know how to operate something. I am not sure if the developer wants an app that can be 100% navigable by the toddlers but it would have been a nice feature. There were also certain times at which sounds or phonic elements stopped short of a lesson so there could be a few bug fixes in order but overall the app was not too bad.

General review The app is well worth the money paid for it - especially when I see the little one's faces light up when they learn something and start repeating what is being said. It has taught them more than I ever thought it would and for that I am pretty grateful. When seeing other young parents in our area now I automatically recommend this app for them to check out!

What I liked Great App!
Things I liked:
1. The variety of word groups to choose from.
2. The progression of 3 letter words on up to 10 letter words.
3. The number of words in each group (too many to count).
4. The ability to adjust word order, how long the word was, speech option and hints.
5. After child puts words in correct order, it spells it again as a reinforcer.
6. Ability to purchase in a different language.

Improvements This is a wonderful app. The only thing I have a problem with is the multiple in app purchases available. I did not click on them since I didn't know if it would automatically purchase without asking me if I was sure about the purchase. I would prefer an option like "parents" that is separate from the main app options, and everything that is related to a purchase be put there.

General review I enjoyed this app on so many levels. It is easy to navigate and the buttons are straightforward. The narrators voice is clear. It teaches children a great deal of vocabulary and how to spell, from PreK to about 2/3 grade. With the ability to change how long the word is, and speech on/off, you can customize it to each child in the family. It also allows you to customize phonics/sight words, word order, letter case, hints, and say word on entry.

What I liked I like that the app has a very clean and straightforward user interface. You could progress into the activity without confusing menu buttons. The Home button, options, and settings were all organized, and seemed to be differentiated in the right places for parents versus kids.

Improvements I think the app sets out to do what it claims to do, which is first word activities. The only suggestion I'd have would be more word lists, but they have that covered in the settings menu (appropriately) with in app purchase options. In fact, more developers should take a look at how iap is implemented in this app - it's sensible.

General review My general opinion is that this is a reliable, high quality, focused app on first word early learning activities. As a parent, I would consider this respectable and helpful software for a child learning their words and getting familiar with digital media.
