What I liked I really like the settings tab that allows youto set up the app for each chils's needs. I love the ability to use a Qwerty Keyboard. I love all of the phonetic rules that it covers and the emphasis on the syllables. One of the best features in my opinion is the "reverse phonics" hints. I haven't seen this anywhere else! As a speech pathologist, I am always looking for ways to boost phonemic awareness! I love that is shows all the possible sounds for each letter or letter combo. I love that child can tap on the hint buttons and hear the sounds, which reinforces sound blending as well!

Improvements I suggest putting a user manual or a set up instructional for teachers or parents using this app. I think the ability to create yoru own word list would be great. This would allow the teacher to choose words with different rules to examine the childs retention of the learned skills in a random format. The ability to run group sessions would also be a huge improvements allowing teachers to use the app with more children, but still targeting child specific concepts.

General review This is a well thought out Spelling app to work on reading, spelling, and phonics skills. It comes with 54 different lessons that cover different spelling rules. There is an intro to each lesson that teaches the concept and then the child gets to practice by spelling. It is unique because it uses "reverse phonics' which breaks down the word into individual sounds. This app can store and track up to 40 students.Great for k-2nd! A must have!

What I liked I really love this app for teaching spelling. The sound is perfect and very easy to understand. The directions are clear and easy to follow along with. The hint button provides very helpful info so your child can figure out the correct letter to use.

Improvements I would love to see this app improved by giving some different background for the app incase blue bothers some children. Also the colors of the keyboard kinda blend in with the blue on blue and may become difficult for children with visual problems. I would like to see the option of turning off the vowel's being a different color in the app. Having the vowels a different color may distract some children using the app.

General review My general opinion of this app is that it's a wonderful app to teach spelling to many ages of children. The app is easy to use and has clear dirrections on what to do. I love the sentences the app provides for the children so they spell the correct word for it's meaning. The hint button provides wonderful prompt for the child using the app. I would highly highly highly recommend :)

What I liked I liked the color coding of the buttons as a word was spelled as well as the ability to hear the word as a whole, phonetically, and by syllable. Also, I like teh ability to create user profiles for individual students to track their progress. Another great thing about this app is that you can change the keyboard for ABC or QWERTY with the consonants in blue and the vowels in red. Finally, it is great to be able to see each spelling list ahead of time.

Improvements The lessons to explain how to spell a type of word are very short. Also, it would be nice if the narrator/application showed a demonstration prior to each lesson. In addition to the image/text of the explanation of the button highlights, I would like to see a video demonstration of how to use the application. Visual images are nice, but often it is easier to see how to use an application through demonstration.

General review This application is great to help children learn the rules of spelling compound words, syllables, schwa e, and long a open syllable words. However, there needs to be a little more instruction on how to use the application itself prior to starting it. With individual user profiles to track student progress, this application is great for classroom use.

What I liked Very impressed with the compound word feature in this application. I am encouraged by the ability for users to use a hint if they need to to be successful. The hint provides choices to allow for problem solving. I appreciate multiple spelling lists being readily available to target phonics in a fun way. Data tracking is available, which is a great feature for those who could benefit from this knowledge. I find the teaching lesson portion to be a great addition! The ability to change to a qwerty keyboard is great!

Improvements I am discouraged as a user when I do not have mastery because i have misplaced a tile; however, the user is informed by the color clues of tiles as to their success. Also, I do not see the trash can when a letter is put in and not needed. I only see the letter with a red background. Is there a reset button or the ability to do a quiz to see current spelling ability.

General review This is a very comprehensive application focusing on spelling! There are great visual clues, for the user, to assist with learning. Users can be self-sufficient with their learning which allows for interactive spelling to take place without hand over hand, or parent/teacher, immediate focus. Data tracking is an option; however, the app doesn't track dates and accuracy level every time. You can't beat the price for the available features included!

What I liked There are a LOT of high frequency words and I love that so many different categories are covered. The additional practice sessions are helpful for more generalization of the skill. Phonemic cues, syllable division markers and the syllable hints are great features. Sentence prompts are great!

Improvements Syllable division doesn't follow convention so it can be confusing for a child to learn it oneway in school and another on the app. Not every word listed in the schwa category is always pronounced as a schwa. It's dialectical in many cases. The ability to pick targets from a list of words, and the ability to record voice would help immensely. Although the app can be used with several clients individually, the ability to use it with more than one student (different goals for each one) simultaneously in a group session would be great. Not every instruction page provides an example.

General review The app has a lot of target words and has great visuals. It provides a lot of practice and is a motivating tool for spelling and literacy skills. The way syllables are divided is tricky though and doesnt follow what's typically taught in school. Ability to customize it by choosing target words per session, being able to record voice and use with multiple users simultaneously in a group seting would be great additions to future updates.
